About this item
This points to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds below Leyndell. It is an exploration clue, not a key required to open the sewers.
In the Royal Capital, use the well in the lower district reached from Avenue Balcony. After the city becomes the Ashen Capital, a different opening in the ash reaches the sewers.
The sewers remain a separate dungeon with their own graces and shortcuts. Changing the capital above does not remove all access to the underground area.

Starting Site of Grace: Hermit Merchant's Shack
Before you go
- Have 800 runes.
- Visit during the day.
- Reach Altus Plateau through Dectus or Ruin-Strewn Precipice and follow the eastern highway through the capital outskirts to Outer Wall Battleground.
- Head northwest along the northern outskirts road to the isolated shack beneath the cliffs. Activate Hermit Merchant's Shack and rest until daytime if the merchant is absent.
- Speak to the seated merchant and buy Note: Below the Capital for 800 runes. The nighttime Bell Bearing Hunter is unnecessary for the note.
Notes
- This points to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds below Leyndell. It is an exploration clue, not a key required to open the sewers.
- In the Royal Capital, use the well in the lower district reached from Avenue Balcony. After the city becomes the Ashen Capital, a different opening in the ash reaches the sewers.
- The sewers remain a separate dungeon with their own graces and shortcuts. Changing the capital above does not remove all access to the underground area.
- The northern Hermit Merchant sells one for 800 runes. Visit during the day; the Bell Bearing Hunter can replace the ordinary nighttime visit.
- If the merchant's bearing has been obtained, the Twin Maiden Husks preserve the remaining purchase. Reading or buying the note does not trigger the Three Fingers encounter.
- Read it in the inventory's Info tab. It does not need to be equipped to provide its clue.
