A Torch, Lantern or Starlight cast does not replace that dungeon light. Buying the note does not remove the protection either.

Before you go

Reach Altus Plateau using the Dectus Medallion halves from Fort Haight and Fort Faroth, or by climbing Ruin-Strewn Precipice and defeating Magma Wyrm Makar.
From Altus Highway Junction, take the northern road uphill past the Altus map monument. Continue toward the southern end of the broken Forest-Spanning Greatbridge.
Activate the bridge grace and find the merchant beside his campfire on the east side. Stay on this end of the broken bridge to shop; the sending gate leads elsewhere.
Open Purchase and buy Note: Imp Shades for 1,200 runes.
