About this item

Refers to Sentry's Torch, which reveals nearby invisible Black Knife Assassins while held. Ordinary Torches and Lanterns do not give the same reveal effect.

Buy the torch separately from the Hermit Merchant in the Capital Outskirts. This note does not include it or make hidden enemies visible by itself.

The effect is useful in Ordina's evergaol and against the invisible assassin in Sage's Cave. Revealing an enemy does not prevent it from attacking you.

In-game description

Note sold by a nomadic merchant imparting knowledge in brief.

"Some assassins cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Seems the Erdtree sentries once carried torches that could cast light on these prowlers."

Where to find

Merchant beside Forest-Spanning Greatbridge

Altus Plateau

Starting Site of Grace: Forest-Spanning Greatbridge

Before you go

  • Have 2,000 runes.
  1. Reach Altus Plateau using the Dectus Medallion halves from Fort Haight and Fort Faroth, or by climbing Ruin-Strewn Precipice and defeating Magma Wyrm Makar.
  2. From Altus Highway Junction, take the northern road uphill past the Altus map monument. Continue toward the southern end of the broken Forest-Spanning Greatbridge.
  3. Activate the bridge grace and find the merchant beside his campfire on the east side. Stay on this end of the broken bridge to shop; the sending gate leads elsewhere.
  4. Open Purchase and buy Note: Unseen Assassins for 2,000 runes.
