About this crafting material
Used in Redmane Fire Pots and Academy Magic Pots. Each craft makes one finished item and spends one Old Fang.
The two recipes use different containers: Redmane Fire Pot uses a Cracked Pot, while Academy Magic Pot uses a Ritual Pot. A stock of ordinary pots does not supply ritual containers.
Boars provide a repeatable drop, with a 5% base fang chance at 100 Discovery. Their other animal-material drops are separate and do not guarantee a fang on the next kill.

In-game description
A rarely-seen specimen of beast fang.
Material used for crafting items.
Found by hunting carnivorous beasts.
These multiple, overlapping fangs grow from a single root. Perhaps they're a vestige of the primordial crucible.
Where to find
Boars near Stormfoot Catacombs
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Stormfoot Catacombs
- From the Church of Elleh, ride northwest to the low cliff containing Stormfoot Catacombs and activate its entrance grace.
- Search the grass outside the entrance for boars. Hunt them and check their dropped loot for Old Fang.
- Return to the grace and rest to bring the animals back. Repeat the outdoor loop without going through the dungeon.
Pidia's balcony above Manor Lower Level
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Royal Moongazing Grounds
Before you go
- Defeat Royal Knight Loretta.
- Reach the western Liurnia road and follow it north through Kingsrealm Ruins. Strike the illusory wall blocking the road at the northern end, then continue past Iji at Road to the Manor.
- Ride toward the large manor while avoiding the magical strikes falling along the approach. Activate Main Caria Manor Gate grace at the entrance.
- Inside, follow the courtyard path northwest toward the building in the far corner. Fingercreepers hide among the plants and beneath the ground; do not stop on a buried hand.
- Enter the building with the seated spirit and climb its stairs to Manor Lower Level grace.
- Take the elevated walkways east and continue straight along the main route at the first junction. Spectral soldiers appear along the bridges. Reach the far building and take its lift up to Manor Upper Level.
- Leave the upper grace, pass the wolves in the garden and climb the main stone stairway toward the Troll Knight and sorcerers.
- Continue up the stairs beyond the troll and Pages to the large circular courtyard. Defeat Royal Knight Loretta, then activate Royal Moongazing Grounds grace.
- Leave Royal Moongazing Grounds through the northern exit into Three Sisters. Turn left and follow the cliff edge until you find a blue Cerulean Tear Scarab above Caria Manor's roofs.
- Look below the cliff for the roof you can safely drop onto. Drop down, then use the wooden platforms along the building's side to descend to the lower roof.
- Find the opening in that roof and climb down the ladder. Pidia is on the balcony directly above the Manor Lower Level grace, but this balcony is reached from the roof.
- Speak to Pidia and buy up to three Old Fangs for 800 runes each. If his puppets have killed him, offer Pidia's Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks to buy the remaining stock.
Notes
- Used in Redmane Fire Pots and Academy Magic Pots. Each craft makes one finished item and spends one Old Fang.
- The two recipes use different containers: Redmane Fire Pot uses a Cracked Pot, while Academy Magic Pot uses a Ritual Pot. A stock of ordinary pots does not supply ritual containers.
- Boars provide a repeatable drop, with a 5% base fang chance at 100 Discovery. Their other animal-material drops are separate and do not guarantee a fang on the next kill.
- Misbegotten are another repeatable option, including those in Castle Morne's opening courtyard. Their fang chances vary by enemy variant, so there is no single universal rate for every Misbegotten.
- Pidia sells three for 800 runes each. His bell bearing preserves remaining stock if he dies, but it does not make the fangs unlimited.
- Lion Guardians and fixed corpse bundles can provide additional fangs. A guardian that remains dead and an already looted corpse are not a renewable farm.
