Putrid Avatar (Dragonbarrow)

A Putrid Avatar guards the high-ground tree above Fort Faroth, on the eastern side of Dragonbarrow.

Location and access

Minor Erdtree north of Fort Faroth

Putrid Avatar (Dragonbarrow)

Minor Erdtree north of Fort Faroth

Starting Site of Grace: Dragonbarrow Fork

  1. Start at Dragonbarrow Fork in northern Caelid and head uphill toward the Minor Erdtree east of the grace. Fort Faroth lies south of this tree.
  2. Fight the Putrid Avatar at the trunk. Its attacks can leave Scarlet Rot on the ground, so keep space to move out of those patches.
  3. Defeating it awards both Opaline Hardtear and Stonebarb Cracked Tear. The Avatar beside the Smoldering Church drops a different pair.

HP and damage negation

Values below are for solo play on the first playthrough. HP is maximum health. Temporary protection and other state changes are explained in the notes.

Notes

  • The rewards are Opaline Hardtear and Stonebarb Cracked Tear. Opaline Bubbletear comes from the Weeping Peninsula Avatar instead.
  • Approach uphill from Dragonbarrow Fork to stay on the tree’s level. Fort Faroth is a useful landmark to the south.
  • Move away from the rot left by the jumping slam. Trying to heal in that area lets buildup continue through the flask animation.
  • Leave enough clear ground for sideways movement when the golden projectiles appear.
  • This Avatar is separate from the one beside Smoldering Church. Defeating either one does not clear the other tree.
