The roots of the Greattree were once linked to those of the Erdtree, or so they say, and it is for this reason catacombs are built around Greattree roots.

Starting Site of Grace: Warmaster's Shack

1. Follow the road east from Stormhill Shack into the woods to find Warmaster's Shack.
2. Check the base of the tree beside the grace for the small orange resin deposits. Pick up the three nearby deposits.
3. Rest at the grace and walk back to the tree. The resin returns, so repeat this short loop for more.

Before you go

• Greasemonger's Bell Bearing

1. Descend through the broken ground in Moorth Ruins to reach Bonny Village. Cross its eastern bridges and follow the road north toward the Cathedral of Manus Metyr.
2. Continue past the wooded area and the armored Furnace Golem to Church District Highroad grace. You can ride past the golem rather than fighting it.
3. From the grace, head south down the road and check the western cliff ledges for the wolves and a hanging pot. The pot is northeast of the cathedral.
4. Shoot the pot, then circle down to the lower ground and collect the fallen bearing.
5. Offer it to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold.
6. Buy Root Resin from the unlocked main shop for 900 runes each.

Notes

• Used in many weapon grease recipes. You need the rest of the ingredients and the recipe as well.
• The tree beside Warmaster's Shack provides a short, repeatable collecting loop.
• Root Resin and Knot Resin are different materials. Check the recipe's exact name before buying a large quantity.
• The Greasemonger's Bell Bearing opens an unlimited shop option if you would rather spend runes than gather it.
• For Fire Grease, Lightning Grease, Magic Grease, Holy Grease, Blood Grease, Soporific Grease, and Poison Grease, use one per finished item.
• For Freezing Grease, Dragonwound Grease, Rot Grease, Drawstring Fire Grease, Drawstring Lightning Grease, Drawstring Magic Grease, and Drawstring Holy Grease, use one per finished item.
• For Drawstring Blood Grease, Drawstring Soporific Grease, Drawstring Poison Grease, Drawstring Rot Grease, and Shield Grease, use one per finished item.
• The unlocked shop sells Root Resin for 900 runes each, compared with 1,800 for Knot Resin. The three deposits beside Warmaster's Shack provide a free alternative for the earlier grease recipes.
