About this spellbook

Sorcery scroll of the Carian royal family, the heads of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

Can be given to a learned sorcerer to gain access to the following sorceries:

- Glintblade Phalanx

- Carian Slicer

Corpse on the eastern ruin above the soldier camp

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Agheel Lake South

1. Activate Agheel Lake South on the southern side of the lake, then head southeast and climb the hillside toward the soldier camp.
2. Look for the ruined stone structure on the eastern side of the camp, where the sorcerers attack from above.
3. Go around to the higher rocks behind that ruin and use them to reach its top. Stay moving if the sorcerers are firing at you.
4. Loot the body on the upper ledge for Royal House Scroll. You do not need to clear the whole camp once you can reach the corpse.

Notes

• Unlocks Glintblade Phalanx and Carian Slicer for purchase.
• Give the scroll to Sellen, Seluvis or Miriel while that teacher's shop is available. Sellen is in Waypoint Ruins Cellar after the Mad Pumpkin Head fight, and Seluvis is at his tower after you enter Ranni's service.
• Miriel stays at the Church of Vows on the raised ground in eastern Liurnia. From the Artist's Shack, follow the road north and take the uphill branch toward the church.
• Handing over the book opens new shop stock. Choose Purchase and spend runes on the spells; they are not learned for free or equipped automatically.
• Spells you have bought carry into later journeys. The book and its teaching unlock do not, so buy the spells you want before starting another journey.
• Carian Slicer costs 1,500 runes and Glintblade Phalanx costs 2,500 runes after the scroll is handed in.
• These are sorcery versions cast with a staff. Learning them does not add an Ash of War to a weapon.
• Sellen provides an early teaching option nearby at Waypoint Ruins, east of Agheel Lake.
• If the teacher later dies, their bell bearing can preserve spells already unlocked in that shop. The Twin Maiden Husks cannot receive a new scroll or prayerbook through a bearing.
• Glintblade Phalanx needs 22 Intelligence; Carian Slicer needs 14 Intelligence.
• Carian Slicer creates a close-range magic sword, while Glintblade Phalanx prepares blades that fire at a nearby enemy. They require separate memory slots if you want both ready.
• A Carian Slicer cast is still a spell. It does not replace the staff with a permanent sword or give your ordinary melee weapon a new moveset.
