Quest steps

Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

  1. Receive his information

    Branch: Main quest

Ask about the known shardbearers after becoming a full member. Return after reaching Leyndell for his questions about the hidden demigods.

  2. Report hidden discoveries

    Branch: Main quest

Return after reaching Miquella’s Haligtree and Mohgwyn Palace. Ask the new dialogue options to receive the discovery rewards.

  3. Report the deeper victories

    Branch: Main quest

After defeating Malenia or Mohg, Lord of Blood, return and choose the Haligtree-roots or Lord-of-Blood-cocoon dialogue respectively.

Progression cutoff: Gideon leaves his study after Maliketh. The dialogue is then unavailable.

  4. Optional potion disposal

    Branch: Seluvis’s Potion

Show him Seluvis’s Potion if you want it disposed of. This preserves Nepheli’s normal quest but prevents using that vial for either Nepheli or Dung Eater Puppet.

  5. Ensha and Nepheli

    Branch: Related characters

Speak to Gideon after Ensha’s ambush and after Nepheli’s Albinauric-village visit for their related explanations.

Notes

  • The palace discovery and Mohg’s defeat are two separate report conditions.
  • If Gideon has left, the missed discovery rewards become available through Twin Maiden Husks. His departure does not permanently remove all four items.
  • Giving the potion to Gideon uses it up. You cannot also give the same vial to Dung Eater.
  • Ensha is the attacker at Roundtable Hold. Gideon’s explanation is a separate later conversation.
  • His boss encounter belongs to the Ashen Capital, not the earlier golden Godfrey encounter in the same room.
