Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing [3] from Zamor Ruins unlocks unlimited purchases at 1,500 runes each. Buying all 12 costs 18,000 runes before the blacksmith's upgrade fees.
Ordinary weapons, shields and compatible casting tools use this upgrade path. Armor and talismans cannot be reinforced with these stones, and Somber weapons use a different material family.

Mountaintops of the Giants
Starting Site of Grace: Zamor Ruins
Before you go
- Reach the Mountaintops through the Grand Lift of Rold.
- Defeat Morgott and receive the Rold Medallion, then cross the Forbidden Lands and use the Grand Lift of Rold's normal medallion action.
- Follow the path from the lift to Zamor Ruins. Move south into the ruined buildings, watching for the Knights of Zamor and their freezing attacks.
- Find the stairwell descending beneath the ruins and open its underground chest for Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing [3]. You can avoid fighting the roaming knights if you reach the cellar safely.
- Take the bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold and choose the option to offer a bell bearing. Check their main shop afterward for the newly available items. Buy Smithing Stone [6] for 1,500 runes each.

- Take the weapon and stones to Hewg at Roundtable Hold. The Church of Elleh anvil stops at +3 and cannot perform this rank's upgrades.
- A higher stone rank cannot replace the lower ranks or skip upgrades. Changing a compatible weapon's affinity later keeps its reinforcement level rather than requiring another set of stones.
- Fixed mineral deposits and corpse pickups do not return after resting. Random enemy drops and finite merchant stock are separate from the unlimited bell-bearing shop.
- The handed-in miner's bearing keeps its upgrade-material shop available in later Journeys. It does not provide free stones or skip the rune cost.
