Circle of chairs at the Divine Tower's base

Greyoll's Dragonbarrow

Starting Site of Grace: Dragonbarrow West

1. From Dragonbarrow West, ride east along the road to the water with two dragons. Turn north toward the Divine Tower of Caelid.
2. Follow the sloping path down toward the tower's base rather than climbing its outside ladders.
3. Loot the body among the circle of chairs for the stone. You do not need to enter the tower or defeat its basement boss.

Church before Beside the Great Bridge

Crumbling Farum Azula

Starting Site of Grace: Dragon Temple Rooftop

Before you go

• Defeat the Godskin Duo and reach the later Farum Azula route.

1. Defeat the Godskin Duo, then follow the route through the ruins to Dragon Temple Rooftop.
2. Descend over the roofs into the area with Warhawks and the dragon calling lightning. Move between cover and reach the passage beyond the dragon's position.
3. Continue into the church guarded by beastmen before the lift to Beside the Great Bridge. Loot the corpse near its altar for Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing [5].
4. Give the bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold to unlock unlimited Somber Smithing Stone [9]. Maliketh is not required for this bearing. Buy Somber Smithing Stone [9] for 25,000 runes each.

Notes

• One stone upgrades a compatible special armament from +8 to +9, plus the blacksmith's rune fee. Each Somber rank uses one stone rather than the ordinary path's 2, 4 and 6 pattern.
• Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing [5] from the church before Beside the Great Bridge unlocks unlimited purchases at 25,000 runes each from the Twin Maiden Husks.
• This rank's unlimited supply comes from its bearing rather than Iji's early Somber stock. The bearing can be handed in without collecting the earlier numbered bearings first.
• Ordinary Smithing Stones with the same number are not substitutes. The material family is set by the weapon's upgrade path, rather than whether you like its skill or appearance.
• The earlier Somber upgrades must be completed in order. Finding a high rank early does not let you jump directly from +0 to that reinforcement level.
• The next upgrade to +10 uses one Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. The fifth bearing only unlocks this +9 material and does not make the final stone unlimited.
• The Dragonbarrow pickup can be collected before reaching Farum Azula. You still need the earlier Somber ranks to use it, so an early +9 stone is not a complete early +9 weapon by itself.
