Before you go

• Defeat the Fallingstar Beast in Sellia Crystal Tunnel.

1. Enter Sellia Crystal Tunnel from the cliff north of the Swamp of Aeonia. If the Dragon-Burnt Ruins chest trapped you here, leave the wooden shack and go downhill to the entrance grace first; you do not have to defeat the boss to escape.
2. From the grace, climb the ladder and enter the main mining cavern. Go up the rocky path on the right, watching for the pests firing from the wooden huts.
3. Climb onto the hut roof and jump to the higher wooden platform to get past the broken building blocking the uphill path. Follow the tunnel beyond it and climb the ladder.
4. The passage brings you back above the main cavern. Cross the plank bridge and climb the next ladder beside the upper hut. The Rock Blaster chest inside that hut is optional.
5. Kick down the nearby shortcut ladder before continuing. Take the westward tunnel through the wooden arch, watching for the pest hidden beside the glowing corpse.
6. Continue past the room with the two pests and the Faithful's Canvas Talisman pickup. The passage to the west ends at the wooden boss doors.
7. Defeat the Fallingstar Beast to receive Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing [1]. Give it to the Twin Maiden Husks to unlock the stone purchases.

Notes

• Unlocks unlimited purchases of Somber Smithing Stone [1], Somber Smithing Stone [2] and Glintstone Scrap.
• The bearing opens the shop; it does not give you free stones. Each purchase still costs runes.
• This upgrade-material shop unlock carries into later journeys once the bearing has been handed in.
• You can obtain the numbered bearings in any order. The number identifies their inventory, so an earlier bearing is not required to use this one.
• Somber Smithing Stone [1] costs 2,000 runes; Somber Smithing Stone [2] costs 3,000 runes. These are prices for one item, separate from any reinforcement fee.
• A somber weapon uses one stone for each matching upgrade level. Rank 1 makes it +1, rank 2 makes it +2, and so on; these stones cannot replace ordinary Smithing Stones.
