Stonedigger Troll (Old Altus Tunnel)
This troll guards the final chamber of Old Altus Tunnel in the valley south of the Shaded Castle. Its explosive surroundings make fire more dangerous than in the Limgrave fight.

Starting Site of Grace: Old Altus Tunnel
Before you go
Reach Altus Plateau and bring two Stonesword Keys.
Find Old Altus Tunnel in the western Altus valley, south of The Shaded Castle. Use two Stonesword Keys at the entrance and take the lift down to its grace.
Follow the tunnel past the first wooden shack into the large mine chamber. Take the ladder beside the shack, then use the wooden platforms and the lower shack's roof to descend into the pit.
Clear the dogs and soldiers on the lower floor. Take the western tunnel out of the main pit to the boss door. The other tunnel is an item room.
Defeat the Stonedigger Troll to receive Great Club. Old Altus Tunnel is separate from Altus Tunnel, whose bosses are Crystalians.

Notes
Great Club is the direct boss reward. Troll’s Hammer is a separate pickup elsewhere in the mine; defeating the troll does not award both weapons.
Opening this dungeon consumes two Stonesword Keys. Old Altus Tunnel is separate from Altus Tunnel, which ends in a Crystalian fight.
The boss can throw fire into the room’s explosive barrels. Keep clear of the barrels while it prepares that attack, and do not use them as cover.
Keep watching the feet when you move underneath it. Being close avoids some long weapon sweeps but does not protect you from a stomp or a weapon slam beside its legs.
Two-handing a suitable weapon helps prevent light attacks rebounding from its stone body. A rebound can leave you standing in place when the next attack arrives.
Use the recovery after a completed slow slam for a charged or jumping attack. Repeated ground slams are a sequence, so wait until the last impact instead of rushing back after the first.
Its broad weapon swings cover a large part of the room. If you fight at range, leave space to dodge the final sweep rather than casting until the weapon is already above you.
The miners, soldiers and dogs on the lower approach can be cleared before the fog. Reaching the boss does not require searching all the upper wooden shacks.
