Torrent

Torrent is your spectral mount, called with the Spectral Steed Whistle. Melina gives you the whistle early, and it remains available after she leaves your side.

Starting Site of Grace: Gatefront

  1. Leave the Stranded Graveyard and follow the road north past the Church of Elleh to Gatefront Ruins.
  2. Activate and rest at Gatefront grace beside Stormgate. Speak to Melina when she appears and accept her accord.
  3. She gives you the Spectral Steed Whistle. Put it in a pouch or quick-item slot and use it outdoors to call Torrent.

Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

  1. Receive the whistle

    Branch: Main quest

    Accept Melina’s accord at a grace. If you declined earlier, ask her again while resting. Put the whistle in a pouch or quick-item slot.

  2. Ride where allowed

    Branch: Main quest

    Use the whistle outdoors when mounted travel is permitted. Dungeons, many boss arenas and invasion or cooperation sessions restrict riding.

  3. Restore Torrent

    Branch: Main quest

    Feed him the appropriate raisins while riding to heal damage. If he dies, using the whistle offers revival for a Crimson Flask charge; resting at a grace also restores him.

Notes

  • A second jump does not cancel fatal fall damage. Do not use it to assume a long cliff drop is safe.
  • Getting knocked off can leave you vulnerable on the ground. Avoid charging through a whole group when Torrent is nearly dead.
  • Rowa Raisin, Sweet Raisin and Frozen Raisin are mount-healing items rather than ordinary player healing.
  • Sealed spiritsprings in the Realm of Shadow need their sealing rocks destroyed before use.
  • Torrent becomes unavailable in Abyssal Woods. This is a regional restriction rather than a missing whistle.
  • Inheriting the Frenzied Flame does not remove the whistle from your inventory.
