Ulcerated Tree Spirit (Mt. Gelmir)

This Tree Spirit guards the Physick tears beside the tree below Volcano Manor, reached from Road of Iniquity.

Starting Site of Grace: Road of Iniquity

Start at Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite. Use the nearby spiritspring to reach the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast's crater, then cross to the long rock jutting from the far side and drop onto the path below.
Follow the road toward Volcano Manor, but take the downhill branch instead of entering the manor. Continue below the cliffs, past the map stele, to Road of Iniquity.
From that grace, go east to the Minor Erdtree and defeat the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. Keep room around you so its moving body does not pin you against the tree or cliffs.
Both Cerulean Hidden Tear and Leaden Hardtear are awarded when it dies. The Fallingstar Beast and Volcano Manor's main boss are not required for this pickup.

Notes

The reward includes Leaden Hardtear and Cerulean Hidden Tear. The latter is not the Cerulean Crystal Tear awarded by other Avatar encounters.
The crater route passes the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast, but you can leave the crater without defeating it. Rykard is also unnecessary for this fight.
Use the open ground instead of letting the moving body pin you between the tree and the cliffs.
The glowing burst is a reason to break off an attack. Give it room before approaching again.
This is an Ulcerated Tree Spirit rather than a staff-wielding Erdtree Avatar. Its lunges, mouth grab and sweeping body need different dodge timing.
