Volcano Manor Apparition
The spirit in Volcano Manor asks for Rykard’s death and points you toward Serpent-Hunter. His appearance is a story hint rather than another assassination contract.

Quest steps
Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.
Hear the request
Branch: Main quest
Speak to the apparition about Rykard and the serpent-slaying weapon.
After Rykard
Branch: Main quest
After defeating Rykard, reload and check the apparition’s former corridor position for the reward.
Rewards and conditions
| Reward or service | Condition | Details |
|---|---|---|
| My Thanks gesture | Return to his former position after defeating Rykard. | Serpent-Hunter is picked up inside Rykard’s arena and is not given directly by this spirit. |
Notes
- His request is independent of the three letter contracts.
- Speaking to him is not required to pick up Serpent-Hunter in Rykard’s arena.
- If he is absent, check the manor at night and after joining Tanith.
- Serpent-Hunter’s special reach applies to the Rykard fight. Do not describe its normal moves as having that same reach everywhere.
