War Counselor Iji

Iji is the giant blacksmith beside Road to the Manor and one of Ranni’s counselors. He sells Somber Smithing Stones, strengthens weapons and explains parts of Blaidd’s later story.

Starting Site of Grace: Road to the Manor

  1. Travel along western Liurnia to Kingsrealm Ruins. Strike or roll through the false wall at the northern end to reach Road to the Manor and the giant blacksmith Iji.
  2. Tell Iji that Blaidd sent you, then buy the crest for 5,000 runes. Entering Ranni's service and speaking to her servants also unlocks it if you have moved beyond Blaidd's early meetings.

Quest steps can include different outcomes. Read the branch, conditions and cutoffs before making a choice.

  1. Find the hidden road

    Branch: Main quest

    Follow western Liurnia north into Kingsrealm Ruins. Strike or roll through the false wall blocking the northern road to find Iji at his anvil.

  2. Unlock the crest

    Branch: Main quest

    Tell him Blaidd sent you after the Darriwil conversation, or enter Ranni’s service and complete her servant introductions. Buy Carian Filigreed Crest once it appears.

  3. Ask about Blaidd

    Branch: Main quest

    Return as Ranni’s investigation progresses. His conversations explain Blaidd’s absence and the evergaol situation.

  4. Report the final encounter

    Branch: Main quest

    After completing Ranni’s quest and resolving Blaidd outside her tower, tell Iji about Blaidd. Reload the area and return for Iji’s final state.

Notes

  • Iji can strengthen eligible armaments through their full upgrade progression when you supply the materials and runes. His small stone stock does not cap his smithing service.
  • The illusory wall is at Kingsrealm Ruins north of the lake’s western road. Caria Manor’s main gate lies farther along beyond him.
  • Blaidd’s referral unlocks the crest for purchase; receiving the referral does not place the talisman in your inventory.
  • Returning to him after major Ranni events provides dialogue that would be missed by only using the shop menu.
  • Killing him early ends his conversations. Keep him alive if you want the full Blaidd and Ranni epilogue.
