Attacks release perfumed powder, producing deadly poison.

There are some techniques of the perfuming arts that employ poison. Upon learning of this, Thiollier threw himself into mastering those techniques, and he made them his own.

Before you go

  • To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
  • Access the Realm of Shadow and bring 6,000 runes.
  1. After defeating Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, touch the withered arm in Miquella's cocoon at Mohgwyn Palace. Leave the arrival cave and activate Gravesite Plain grace.
  2. Follow the road northeast toward Scorched Ruins, then continue north through the plain. A Furnace Golem patrols nearby; you can ride around it rather than fighting it.
  3. At the fork before the western road toward Belurat, activate Three-Path Cross beside the tall golden cross. Hornsent stands here with Redmane Freyja.
  4. From Three-Path Cross, follow the eastern road over Ellac Greatbridge to Castle Front. Activate the grace before entering the soldiers' camp or Castle Ensis.
  5. From Castle Front, ride southeast through the soldiers' camp. Follow the road toward Pillar Path, then take the branch to the golden cross rather than the high route to the Suppressing Pillar.
  6. Activate Pillar Path Cross and speak to Thiollier seated beside it. Open Purchase and buy Deadly Poison Perfume Bottle for 6,000 runes.

Before you go

  • Thiollier has moved to the southern garden.
  • Moore's shop or transferred bell-bearing shop must be available.
  1. If Thiollier has moved south, return to Moore at Main Gate Cross and check the added poison stock. His transferred bell-bearing shop can also supply available stock if Moore has died.
  2. Buy the unpurchased Deadly Poison Perfume Bottle for 6,000 runes. This is shared remaining stock, rather than a second copy supplied after you already bought Thiollier's bottle.

Notes

  • Deals physical damage with equal Dexterity and Arcane scaling. Arcane also improves the Poison buildup, while Dexterity improves damage without increasing the poison meter contribution.
  • Has 66 base Poison buildup before Arcane scaling. Its deadly poison deals 0.14% of the target's maximum HP plus 14 HP per second for 30 seconds, before special target adjustments.
  • More Arcane helps trigger poison sooner, rather than increasing that fixed damage-over-time formula. Poison Spraymist, the crafted consumable, applies a different and stronger poison formula.
  • The fixed Deadly Poison Spray skill costs 21 FP and releases a cloud lasting about seven seconds. It builds Poison on enemies and on you, so bring a way to cure the ailment if using it repeatedly.
  • Self-poisoning can activate Kindred of Rot's Exultation, Mushroom Crown and an active Poisoned Hand. The useful attack buff does not stop the poison from draining your HP.
  • The skill cannot be charged, and its long animation leaves you exposed. Perfumer's Talisman improves direct perfume-attack damage rather than the cloud's Poison buildup or poison ticks.
  • Requires 3 Strength, 13 Dexterity and 18 Arcane and weighs 1.0. Its normal physical attacks can still damage a poison-immune target, but the ailment will not trigger.
  • A reusable weapon rather than a crafted aromatic. Ordinary attacks use stamina without spending perfume ingredients or an empty Perfume Bottle. Two-handing provides its paired-bottle attacks.
  • Perfume Bottle weapons cannot perform backstabs or ripostes. A displayed critical rating does not give this weapon a critical-attack animation.
  • Perfumer's Talisman increases perfume-attack damage by 20%. It does not increase status buildup. Damage bonuses for the weapon's actual element are separate options.
  • Upgrades with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Its skill is fixed, cannot use another Ash of War and cannot be coated with grease or ordinary weapon enchantments.
  • Buy it from Thiollier before sending him to St. Trina for the simplest method. The shared later stock depends on Moore's shop being available; neither merchant needs to be killed for the purchase.
