Lists 50 Physical and 150 Lightning attack power, with a Lightning burst on impact. Physical and Lightning damage meet the enemy's defenses separately.
The impact burst reaches about 2.5 meters and can knock eligible enemies backward. Aim beside a target when the burst can catch it, rather than expecting every near miss to do damage.

Before you go
- Reach the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- At Ancient Snow Valley Ruins in the Mountaintops, follow the frozen river north and west to the spiritspring. Use it to reach the plateau toward Stargazers' Ruins.
- Find the bridge running southeast from the ruins. Just south of the bridge's beginning, descend carefully onto the ledge with the merchant's campfire rather than riding off the cliff.
- Buy Lightning Greatbolts for 500 runes each. The shop has unlimited stock, and no fight at Castle Sol is required for the purchase.

- The impact burst reaches about 2.5 meters and can knock eligible enemies backward. Aim beside a target when the burst can catch it, rather than expecting every near miss to do damage.
- When fired from Jar Cannon, it follows a flatter, longer-reaching path than Explosive Greatbolt. That makes it useful for distant targets; other ammunition still follows its own flight behavior.
- Rain and standing water reduce Lightning negation, while Fire ammunition is affected differently. The result depends on the target and conditions rather than one greatbolt always being stronger.
- The merchant below the bridge near Stargazers' Ruins sells unlimited stock for 500 runes each. Carry up to 20, for 10,000 runes per full carried stack.
- The ammunition does not add Dexterity or Faith scaling to Hand Ballista or Jar Cannon. Their normal lack of attribute scaling still applies.
