About this item

One craft makes 10, using 3 Thin Beast Bones, 2 Congealed Putrescence and 1 Human Bone Shard. The cookbook and Crafting Kit remain available after crafting.

The impact releases a brief cloud of white smoke that attracts human-shaped enemies who are not already in combat. Aim at the place you want them to investigate, rather than shooting directly at the enemy you are trying to distract.

Demi-humans can be drawn to it even while fighting. This exception does not make it a universal way to stop every enemy in the middle of an attack.

Where to find

Crafting after obtaining Grave Keeper's Cookbook [1]

Cerulean Coast

Starting Site of Grace: Cerulean Coast West

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Grave Keeper's Cookbook [1]
  • Materials for one batch: 3 Thin Beast Bones, 2 Congealed Putrescence and 1 Human Bone Shard
  1. From Castle Front, ride south to the crossroads, turn east and follow the road to the next fork. Take the right-hand dirt track, then the left fork downhill toward the southeast.
  2. Pass the bloodfiends and descend into the shallow poison area. Follow the lower path down toward the river rather than climbing toward the fort; watch for militia and poison traps along the descent.
  3. At the bottom is a shallow pool with a giant crab. Turn southwest into the opening in the cliff, continue through the cave past the Revered Spirit Ash chamber and activate Ellac River Cave grace.
  4. Leave by the southern cave exit and turn south along the river. Use Torrent to cross the successive rock ledges beside the waterfall, landing on the nearby rocks rather than jumping to the valley floor.
  5. Continue down the ledge path past the stone birds, watching for the living ones to attack. Drop down the short rock steps to Ellac River Downstream grace.
  6. From Downstream, continue south beside the lower falls. Cross the long rock pillar toward the east and use its far side to reach the lower water safely.
  7. The lower basin opens toward a Furnace Golem. Its fight is optional for reaching the coast, the friendly forager or the lightning-flower pond.
  8. Head through the eastern wooded side of the basin, then follow the passage southwest through the cliffs to Cerulean Coast grace. The blue-flowered field beyond confirms you have reached the coast.
  9. From Cerulean Coast grace, travel southwest toward the first leaning stone coffin, then west past the next huge coffin and the Cemetery Shade.
  10. Follow the shallow water southwest toward the large dead tree. Watch for the floating lightning balls and the shade near its base.
  11. Search the corpse beside the tree for the cookbook. It is on the surface; do not drop into the nearby hole leading toward the offshore island.
  12. Cerulean Coast West grace is northwest of this tree, beyond the nearby huge coffin, if you want a closer return point.
  13. If Item Crafting is locked, buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes.
  14. Collect 3 Thin Beast Bones, 2 Congealed Putrescence and 1 Human Bone Shard, then select Piquebone Arrow in Item Crafting outside combat. One craft makes 10.

Notes

  • One craft makes 10, using 3 Thin Beast Bones, 2 Congealed Putrescence and 1 Human Bone Shard. The cookbook and Crafting Kit remain available after crafting.
  • The impact releases a brief cloud of white smoke that attracts human-shaped enemies who are not already in combat. Aim at the place you want them to investigate, rather than shooting directly at the enemy you are trying to distract.
  • Demi-humans can be drawn to it even while fighting. This exception does not make it a universal way to stop every enemy in the middle of an attack.
  • It draws attention rather than turning the target into a friendly ally. An enemy outside the lure's conditions may ignore it.
  • Has 28 Physical attack power and no built-in Poison, Blood Loss, Frostbite or Sleep. The smoke is a lure, rather than another status meter to fill.
  • Use it with a bow or light bow. It saves the Flight Pinion and has 28 Physical attack power instead of the fletched version's 25, but has shorter flight.
  • Carry up to 99 of this type. Ordinary shots do not spend FP; a bow or crossbow skill can have its own FP cost.
