Starting Site of Grace: Rivermouth Cave

1. From Castle Front, ride south to the crossroads, turn east and follow the road to the next fork. Take the right-hand dirt track, then the left fork downhill toward the southeast.
2. Pass the bloodfiends and descend into the shallow poison area. Follow the lower path down toward the river rather than climbing toward the fort; watch for militia and poison traps along the descent.
3. At the bottom is a shallow pool with a giant crab. Turn southwest into the opening in the cliff, continue through the cave past the Revered Spirit Ash chamber and activate Ellac River Cave grace.
4. Leave Ellac River Cave toward the river and turn north, upstream. Find Rivermouth Cave in the western cliff near the northern end of the ravine.
5. Activate the cave grace and follow the first wolf tunnel. At the fork, use the left passage to the next wolf chamber.
6. Clear the wolves, pass the stone arch and climb the rubble toward the glowing corpse. The weak floor collapses beneath you into the blood-streaked passage below.
7. Collect the rune after the drop. Chief Bloodfiend is farther into the cave and does not have to die for this pickup.

Notes

• Use one to gain 7,500 runes. Selling one to a merchant gives the same 7,500, so selling it does not increase its value.
• The item stays in your inventory when you die. After you consume or sell it, those runes join your carried total and follow the ordinary death-and-recovery rules.
• Golden Scarab and rune-gain foods do not increase this fixed value. Those effects improve eligible enemy rune rewards instead.
• You can carry 99 and store another 600. Unused copies carry into a later journey with the same value per item.
• This is currency, rather than an automatic level increase. Use only what you need before spending it on levels, upgrades or purchases.
• Spend these runes inside or outside the Realm of Shadow. Their name does not restrict purchases to the expansion.
• The Rivermouth Cave pickup involves a collapsing floor. Collecting it is separate from the cave boss reward and does not raise either Shadow Realm blessing.
