Blood Loss or Frostbite grants 350 Robustness for 45 seconds. Sleep or Madness grants 350 Focus for 30 seconds. Each bonus applies to the pair of ailments covered by that resistance stat.

In-game description

A talisman depicting a soul taken by sickness.

When certain ailments are triggered, this talisman grants resistance to the same ailment.

When the weak were infected with the dreaded fly sickness, they perished well before the metamorphosis could take hold. Oddly, those who cared for the infected and made certain they were given a proper burial were never afflicted themselves.

Where to find

Abandoned Ailing Village

Gravesite Plain

Starting Site of Grace: Greatbridge, North

Before you go

  • Enter the Realm of Shadow.
  1. From the opening Gravesite Plain grace, head north past Scorched Ruins to Three-Path Cross. Continue north across the road and take the path beside the large tree to Greatbridge, North, on the right side of that path. Stay west of Ellac Greatbridge rather than crossing toward Castle Ensis.
  2. From Greatbridge, North, head north and northeast up the slope into Abandoned Ailing Village. The lake with the Ghostflame Dragon is west of the grace, separate from this uphill village route.
  3. Walk into the village and follow its path uphill toward the furthest house. Man-Flies gather around the houses, so pull them away in small groups if you are getting surrounded.
  4. At the far house, watch for the spellcaster and the flies beside it. Once you have room to move, check the wooden deck on your right.
  5. Loot the body hanging over the edge of the deck to collect the Ailment Talisman. There is no boss to defeat for this pickup.

Notes

  • Gives you extra resistance after Poison, Scarlet Rot, Blood Loss, Frostbite, Sleep or Madness actually triggers. A buildup bar filling partway does not activate it, so it will not protect you from that first proc.
  • Poison or Scarlet Rot grants 350 Immunity for 120 seconds. Immunity covers both ailments, so triggering one also raises your resistance to the other during that time.
  • Blood Loss or Frostbite grants 350 Robustness for 45 seconds. Sleep or Madness grants 350 Focus for 30 seconds. Each bonus applies to the pair of ailments covered by that resistance stat.
  • The extra resistance makes the next buildup harder to complete. It does not cure active Poison or Scarlet Rot, restore lost health, remove Frostbite or undo the stun from Sleep or Madness.
  • There is no Vitality bonus for Death Blight. This talisman cannot save you from a completed Death Blight buildup.
  • Use it when repeated status applications are the problem. A resistance charm gives you protection before the first application, which is often more useful if that first proc is already enough to kill you.
