Attempts an invasion of another player's world.

If successful, you will arrive as an invader (Bloody Finger) with the objective of defeating the Host of Fingers of that world.

Glistening blood has been siphoned into the nail of this finger. Its sickly pale skin feels nothing now, but the nail still aches with sweetest pain.

Before you go

• Keep Varre alive and progress his quest.

1. Defeat a Shardbearer such as Godrick, then speak to Finger Reader Enia at Roundtable Hold.
2. Find Varre at Rose Church on an island southwest of Raya Lucaria Academy in Liurnia. Tell him the Two Fingers did not seem right and receive his Festering Bloody Fingers.
3. Attempt three player invasions, or use the red invasion sign at Writheblood Ruins in Altus Plateau to defeat Magnus the Beast Claw. Defeating Magnus once satisfies this stage without online play.
4. Return to Varre and accept the anointing to receive Lord of Blood's Favor.
5. For maiden's blood without killing a friendly NPC, go to the Church of Inhibition in northeastern Liurnia. Follow the uphill route past Frenzied Flame Village, take cover from the tower's Madness and deal with Vyke if he invades.
6. Interact with the dead maiden seated inside the church to stain the favor. Return to Varre at Rose Church and agree to offer your finger.

Notes

• A reusable invasion tool with no FP cost. It searches for another player's world, where your objective is to defeat the Host of Fingers.
• Unlike Festering Bloody Finger, it is not spent on each attempt. You can keep using it after a failed search or completed invasion.
• Its normal function still requires online play and an eligible host. Acquiring it through an offline quest alternative does not let it invade ordinary players while offline.
• Matchmaking uses the normal character-level and weapon-upgrade rules. A multiplayer password used for friendly summons does not let this finger select a particular stranger's world.
• Bloody Finger and Recusant Finger serve the same invasion purpose, with different titles and temporary phantom fingers. Collecting either one does not prevent using the other.
• A successful invasion supplies three temporary Phantom Bloody Fingers for relocating within that session. They are separate from this permanent quest reward.
• Varre gives it after you return the blood-stained favor and agree to the anointing. Continue his dialogue afterward for Pureblood Knight's Medal, which is a separate reward.
• Keep Varre alive until receiving the items you want. Absolution does not bring a dead Varre back to finish this quest.
