A finger of corpse wax, so emaciated the bone is visible.

It is a relic of those who came before, left to help those who would come after.

Corpse inside the Chapel of Anticipation

1. When your character first wakes in Chapel of Anticipation, look for the dead maiden leaning against the wall inside the chapel.
2. Loot the glowing item beside her for Tarnished's Wizened Finger before leaving through the chapel doors. You do not need to defeat Grafted Scion or clear the tutorial for this pickup.

Notes

• Opens the message-writing interface. You can also choose Messages from the main menu without putting the finger into a quick item slot.
• Write with the available templates and phrases, adding a gesture if you want. This is the message system, not a free-text chat box or a way to send a private message to a particular player.
• It is reusable and costs no FP. Each use leaves the finger available, and neither a Furlcalling Finger Remedy nor a multiplayer summon sign is spent.
• Online play lets other players see and appraise your messages. A message appraisal can restore HP while you are playing, but you cannot choose when another player sends that appraisal.
• Use the Messages menu to review, edit or delete your own messages. You do not need to return to the chapel whenever you want to write again.
• Different finger items have different jobs. Tarnished's Furled Finger places a cooperative summon sign; this Wizened Finger writes ground messages instead.
