Blue Dancer Charm

Talismans

Increases physical attack power according to the total weight of everything you have equipped, including weapons in inactive hand slots, armor and talismans. At 0, 8, 16, 20 and 30 equipment weight, the nominal bonuses are 15%, 13.5%, 9%, 3.75% and 0%. The bonus changes linearly between these points and stays at zero above 30. Maximum equip load and Endurance do not change this curve. It only boosts the physical part of an eligible attack, so elemental damage does not receive the bonus. Changing equipment requires recalculating the full loadout. The stored native values retain their original floating-point precision.

In-game description

A cloth doll depicting a dancer garbed in blue.

An ancient heirloom of some sort.

Raises attack power with lower equipment load.

The dancer in blue represents a fairy, who in legend bestowed a flowing sword upon a blind swordsman. Blade in hand, the swordsman sealed away an ancient god—a god that was Rot itself.

Where to find

Guardian Golem in Highroad Cave

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Highroad Cave

  1. From Saintsbridge, use the nearby spiritspring with Torrent to reach the river below. Follow the river north past the land octopuses to Highroad Cave. Enter and activate the grace.
  2. Bring a torch or lantern. Descend the ledges around both dark shafts, passing through the wolf rooms between them. Continue until the cave opens onto a waterfall.
  3. Follow the left wall down the ledges toward the rushing water. Watch for bats and locate the fallen pillar leading to the circular platform below.
  4. Take a running jump from the waterfall ledge onto the pillar. Cross to the circular platform and clear its bats. Shamshir lies here; it is not the talisman.
  5. Take the northeastern pillar crossing and continue through the passage with the large land octopus. Beyond it, follow the ledge beside the waterfall and drop onto the rocky path below.
  6. Pass under the waterfall to the boss fog. Defeat the Guardian Golem for Blue Dancer Charm. Attack its legs to create a stance-break opening, then use the critical attack when it falls.

Notes

  • Raises physical attack power as actual equipped weight falls. It uses the total weight of equipped items, rather than the percentage shown beside Light, Medium or Heavy Load.
  • The nominal bonus is 15% at zero equipped weight and falls to zero at 30. The charm itself weighs 0.9, so do not treat 15% as the exact bonus you receive just by removing your armor.
  • Weapons in unused hand slots, armor and other talismans still add weight. Items sitting unequipped in your inventory do not count toward this total.
  • Raising Endurance or using an Arsenal charm raises maximum equip load but does not make your equipped items lighter. It therefore does not strengthen Blue Dancer Charm if the actual equipped weight stays the same.
  • The bonus applies to physical damage. A split-damage weapon's magic, fire, lightning or holy portion does not receive the same increase.
  • Spells that deal physical damage can also benefit. Casting with a staff or seal does not automatically make every spell deal Magic damage.
  • Light Load alone does not guarantee a useful bonus. A character with a very high carrying limit can light roll while wearing enough actual weight to receive no damage increase from this charm.
  • Useful reference points are a 13.5% physical attack-power bonus at 8 total equipped weight and 9% at 16. The decline is not a straight line from zero weight to 30.
  • Weightless casting equipment, such as Dragon Communion Seal, helps keep the weight low for physical incantations. An elemental spell still receives no bonus just because the seal is weightless.
  • Removing armor gives up its protection, and inactive weapons still add equipped weight. Balance the damage gained against those costs rather than assuming a light roll alone makes the charm worthwhile.
  • At 20 equipment weight, the physical attack bonus is 3.75%. The curve uses absolute equipped weight, so raising Endurance or maximum equip load does not improve this bonus. Weapons in inactive hand slots still count.
