Only the Lightning part of a mixed hit receives this reduction. It does not make every attack from an enemy using that element deal less damage.

Cannot be equipped with another Boltdrake variant. Earlier versions are not required to collect or use a stronger one.

The ancient dragons, who ruled in the prehistoric era before the Erdtree, would protect their lord as a wall of living rock.

And so it is that the shape of the dragon has become symbolic of all manner of protections.

Before you go

  • Reach Dragon Temple Rooftop.
  1. From Dragon Temple Rooftop, descend the nearby rooftops and follow the route through the Warhawks toward the ancient dragon throwing lightning into the courtyard.
  2. At the dragon's courtyard, move to the eastern cliff edge, on your left as you approach the dragon. Look below for a chain of ledges leading to an isolated building.
  3. Drop from ledge to ledge until you can enter the building. Do not jump straight from the courtyard to the lowest doorway.
  4. Follow the interior passage and climb the ladder. Take the lift upward; the Dragon Towershield chest nearby is a different pickup.
  5. Continue along the upper path past the Crucible Knight and the Beastmen. Follow it to the next ladder and climb to the window above.
  6. Deal with the Warhawk at the top and loot the corpse hanging from the window for the talisman.

  • Reduces incoming Lightning damage by 20% against enemies or 6% against other players. The smaller player-versus-player value applies against player attacks, rather than using the enemy reduction everywhere.
  • Only the Lightning part of a mixed hit receives this reduction. It does not make every attack from an enemy using that element deal less damage.
  • Cannot be equipped with another Boltdrake variant. Earlier versions are not required to collect or use a stronger one.
  • Pearldrake Talisman can provide another compatible layer against this element. The reductions multiply rather than adding their percentages together.
  • Does not strengthen your Lightning attacks or protect you from a dragon's physical claws. Lightning damage also has no separate buildup meter for this talisman to resist.
  • With 25% existing negation for a covered damage type, its 20% enemy reduction gives 40% total negation. It is not an extra 20 percentage points added directly to the armor display.
  • The route starts from Dragon Temple Rooftop and descends beside the lightning courtyard. The scarab plateau reached through Dragon Temple Lift is a different place.
  • Dragon Towershield is a separate chest along the tower route. Continue past it to the window corpse rather than assuming that chest contains the talisman.
  • Weighs 0.6. Its protection stays active while equipped; it does not need FP, a casting tool or an attribute requirement.
