Effects

Reduces incoming poise damage by 25%, equivalent to about one-third more effective poise. The equipment screen reflects this increase, although its displayed whole number can hide a fraction.

For example, 75 poise becomes effectively 100 before display rounding. The result depends on the incoming attack and your remaining poise, so the same outfit will not withstand every combo.

Poise determines whether qualifying hits interrupt you. This talisman does not reduce the HP damage you take, so finishing an attack through a hit can still leave you badly hurt.

In-game description

A talisman depicting the horns of a bull-goat.

Raises poise.

Bull-goats are associated with the stout and mighty Tragoth, said to be unflinching in combat—now a silent comrade to those who fight.

Where to find

Dragonbarrow Cave rear passage

Dragonbarrow

Starting Site of Grace: Dragonbarrow Cave

  1. From Dragonbarrow Fork, follow the cliffside path east to Dragonbarrow Cave. Watch for the smaller bears outside, then enter and activate the grace.
  2. The first large chamber contains a patrolling Runebear with much more health than the bears outside. You can sneak through the shrubs while it faces away instead of fighting it.
  3. Continue toward the southeastern side passage marked by Crystal Cave Moss. Follow it into the quieter rear chamber with small wildlife.
  4. Search the corpse in the corner of that chamber for Bull-Goat's Talisman. The dead end farther south with deer and plants is a different part of the cave.
  5. Return along the same passage to leave. The northwestern opening in the first chamber drops toward wolves and the two Beastmen; you do not need to take that route for the talisman.

Notes

  • Reduces incoming poise damage by 25%, equivalent to about one-third more effective poise. The equipment screen reflects this increase, although its displayed whole number can hide a fraction.
  • For example, 75 poise becomes effectively 100 before display rounding. The result depends on the incoming attack and your remaining poise, so the same outfit will not withstand every combo.
  • Poise determines whether qualifying hits interrupt you. This talisman does not reduce the HP damage you take, so finishing an attack through a hit can still leave you badly hurt.
  • It does not increase the stance damage you deal to enemies. Your resistance to being interrupted and an enemy's stance meter are separate things.
  • The benefit depends on your equipment and the attack hitting you. A small increase that stays below an enemy attack's stagger threshold may not change the outcome.
  • The reduction also helps during attacks with active hyperarmor, when an action provides extra resistance to interruption. It does not give every move hyperarmor or extend those protected frames, and grabs or overwhelming hits can still interrupt you.
  • The Runebear and the two Beastmen are optional for this pickup. Collect the corpse in the rear wildlife chamber and retrace your route if the talisman is all you came for.
