In-game description
An accoutrement worn by the ancestral followers.
Raises focus.
(Focus governs resistance to sleep and madness.)
Said to be a budding horn. The ancestral followers believe that the horns of a long-lived beast continue to bud like antlers, over and over again, until the beast one day becomes an ancestral spirit.
Where to find
Stairway below Deep Siofra Well
Siofra River
Starting Site of Grace: Below the Well
- In eastern Limgrave, follow the Mistwood road south toward the Minor Erdtree and find the round Siofra River Well building nearby. Ride its lift down and activate Siofra River Well Depths.
- Follow the river northeast past the ruins and Claymen to the next lift. Ride up, descend the slope into the open basin and activate Siofra River Bank beyond the crab.
- Continue north through the lower river, passing the archers around Worshippers' Woods. Stay at river level and follow the route toward Below the Well at the basin's far northern end.
- Activate Below the Well, then climb the broad stone stairs northeast toward the lift to Dragonbarrow.
- Loot the corpse on those stairs for Clarifying Horn Charm. Stop before the imp seal; its two Stonesword Keys open the lift, rather than being needed for this talisman.
- The Ancestor Spirit puzzle and the higher Dragonkin Soldier arena are separate. Neither boss nor any flame-pillar completion is required for the charm.
Notes
- Adds 140 Focus, raising the buildup needed for Sleep and Madness to trigger. The bonus is a flat resistance increase rather than a percentage.
- Focus is a resistance stat. It does not increase your FP bar, improve spellcasting or add points to Mind.
- It does not cure an ailment that has already triggered, and it does not reduce the ordinary HP damage of attacks that happen to inflict Madness buildup.
- Death Blight uses Vitality, so this charm does not protect against it.
- Cannot be worn with Clarifying Horn Charm +1 or +2. A compatible Mottled Necklace can add its separate Focus bonus.
- The corpse is before the sealed Deep Siofra Well lift. The two Stonesword Keys open the lift to Dragonbarrow; they are not needed to collect the charm.
- Its larger Focus threshold delays the ailment; it does not slow the individual buildup applied by each hit or shorten a Sleep or Madness effect that has already triggered.
