It strengthens the critical attack rather than increasing every normal hit or helping you break an enemy's stance sooner.

A ranged headshot or a thrusting hit during an enemy's attack is not the same as a dedicated critical animation.

Enhances critical hits.

The white-garbed field surgeons come to the aid of friend and foe alike by dealing a final deadly thrust to spare them from the prolonged agony of a mortal wound. A sense of mercy is a catalyst for bloodlust.

Before you go

  • Two Stonesword Keys.
  • Reach the upper Volcano Manor throne room.
  1. Progress through Volcano Manor's prison town and defeat the Godskin Noble at Temple of Eiglay. Continue through the upper lava-side buildings to the throne room just before the waygate to Rykard.
  2. Instead of using the waygate, go up the throne room's side stairs to the imp seal.
  3. Spend two Stonesword Keys and enter the room full of hanging cages.
  4. Immediately turn right and look for the lower walkway beneath your entry point. Drop onto that platform instead of descending the full chain of cages to the bottom.
  5. Follow the side rooms past the Man-Serpent and spellcaster, then check the corpse on your right for the talisman.
  6. Rykard does not need to be defeated. The lowermost cage route leads to other loot and is not the route to this corpse.

Notes

  • Raises critical-attack damage by 17%. Backstabs and ripostes benefit even when the weapon is not a dagger.
  • It strengthens the critical attack rather than increasing every normal hit or helping you break an enemy's stance sooner.
  • A ranged headshot or a thrusting hit during an enemy's attack is not the same as a dedicated critical animation.
  • Lifesteal Fist's successful grab is a special exception and also receives the damage bonus. That does not make it a normal critical for every other talisman; Assassin's Cerulean Dagger and Blade of Mercy do not gain the same trigger from the grab.
  • For ordinary critical attacks, Assassin's Crimson Dagger and Assassin's Cerulean Dagger can add HP and FP recovery. Dagger Talisman itself restores neither.
  • Two Stonesword Keys open the hanging-cage chamber. Turn right immediately after entering for the lower side catwalk; dropping all the way to the bottom takes you toward different loot.
