In-game description
Piercing Gravel Stone sword containing primeval lightning.
A portion of the Dragonlord's power, gained from a remembrance.
This weapon commands great power over the paltry, mortal dragons of today.
Skill
Temporarily transform into a red thundercloud and fly through the air, then plunge down with a lightning-infused blade. Hold to increase the reach of the thundercloud form.
Where to find
Crumbling Farum Azula
Starting Site of Grace: Beside the Great Bridge
Before you go
- Reach Crumbling Farum Azula and defeat Dragonlord Placidusax.
- From Beside the Great Bridge, take the lift down and go back through the Beastmen's church. Leave through the far opening and walk toward the cliff outside.
- Look down slightly to the left for the floating rocks below. Drop onto the first rock, then work down the remaining rocks to the wide ruined platform beneath them.
- Find the empty grave-shaped recess without bones on the platform. Stand in it and choose Lie down to enter Dragonlord Placidusax's arena.
- Defeat Placidusax to receive Remembrance of the Dragonlord. Return to Enia beside the Two Fingers at Roundtable Hold and exchange the remembrance for Dragon King's Cragblade.
Notes
- Requires 18 Strength and 37 Dexterity and weighs 8. Its ordinary physical piercing damage scales mainly with Dexterity, with weaker Strength scaling. Dexterity also improves its lightning damage; Faith does not.
- As a heavy thrusting sword, it gives long thrusts and can attack from behind a compatible raised shield. Those guarded pokes still use stamina, and an empty bar can leave you exposed.
- Deals 30% extra damage against ordinary dragons and 15% against ancient dragons. The bonus depends on enemy classification, rather than the size of the enemy or whether its name contains Dragon.
- Thundercloud Form costs 28 FP. Transform into a red cloud, travel forward and finish with a plunging thrust. Hold the input to extend the travel, add more cloud contacts and strengthen the final thrust.
- The cloud's lightning and the added lightning on the finish improve with Dexterity and reinforcement. The actual thrust also uses the weapon's attack power, so the skill is not a Faith-scaling spell.
- The final plunge supplies much of its stance pressure. Passing through an enemy with only the cloud is not the same as landing the full finish, and extending the travel can overshoot a nearby target.
- Shard of Alexander improves its damage. Godfrey Icon does not apply despite the hold input. This skill is an exception to the assumption that every held skill gains that talisman's bonus.
- The transformation helps resist interruption and avoid some attacks during its movement. It does not make the entire startup and landing invulnerable, and the extended version uses more stamina.
- Upgrade with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. The skill and affinity are fixed, and outside grease or a weapon enchantment cannot be applied.
- Enia exchanges Remembrance of the Dragonlord for it without an additional rune charge. Placidusax's Ruin is the other reward. Duplicate the remembrance at a suitable mausoleum if you want each reward once in the same journey.
