Reduces incoming physical damage by 20% from enemies and 5% from other players. The much smaller PvP effect is worth keeping in mind when changing from exploration to invasions or duels.

Covers standard, strike, slash and pierce damage. Magic, fire, lightning and holy components of the same attack remain unaffected.

No shield is required. It also does not increase a shield's Guard Boost or reduce the stamina cost of blocking through a separate effect.

In-game description

Legendary talisman of wrought iron depicting a massive ancient dragon.

Enormously boosts physical damage negation.

The ancient dragons, who ruled in the prehistoric era before the Erdtree, would protect their lord as a wall of living rock.

And so it is that the shape of the dragon has become symbolic of all manner of protections.

Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree

Starting Site of Grace: Drainage Channel

Before you go

  • Reach Drainage Channel in Elphael.
  1. Reach Elphael through Miquella's Haligtree and continue through the inner wall and rot-filled section to Drainage Channel.
  2. Leave the channel through the eastern opening and follow the large root outside. Use the stone support below it to cross to the next root.
  3. Continue along the roots and buttresses until you can step onto the roof of the church filled with Pests.
  4. Find the hole in the roof and look down before dropping. Land on the wooden rafters, not the church floor.
  5. Cross the rafters toward the raised platform on the southwestern side. Kill or avoid the Pests that can shoot at you, then drop onto that platform.
  6. Open the chest for the talisman. Malenia is farther ahead and does not need to be defeated.

  • Cannot be equipped with any Dragoncrest Shield Talisman variant. Greatshield is the strongest physical-protection version in that family.
  • Damage reductions multiply with armor. For example, 20% physical negation from armor combined with this talisman's 20% PvE reduction gives 36% overall protection, rather than 40%.
  • It is one of the legendary talismans used for the related achievement. Malenia is not required for the chest above the Pest-filled church.
