About this item
Has no usable effect, crafting recipe, upgrade purpose or quest turn-in. It is deliberately worthless, despite the glow on its pickup.
Patches sells an unlimited supply for 100 runes each, but its sale value is zero. Buying and reselling it cannot produce a profit or recover the purchase price.
It does not light dark areas, mark a safe fall like a Rainbow Stone, or work as a throwing weapon. The description's sparkle is not a hidden utility effect.

In-game description
Glass shard covered in dirt.
Because it sparkles in the light, it might be mistaken for an object of value when seen from afar.
It cannot produce light by itself. Essentially worthless.
Where to find
Patches' shop in Murkwater Cave
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Murkwater Cave
Before you go
- Follow the river north from Agheel Lake and enter Murkwater Cave in the western wall of the ravine.
- Activate the cave grace, clear the bandits and open the chest in the back room to trigger Patches' fight. When he surrenders, stop attacking and speak to him.
- Leave and reload the cave, then speak to him again to open his shop.
- Patches sells Glass Shards for 100 runes each with unlimited stock. This is a way to obtain one, rather than a useful reason to spend your runes.
- If he has moved, use his current shop. If he is already dead, giving his bell bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks restores his remaining shop inventory.
Notes
- Has no usable effect, crafting recipe, upgrade purpose or quest turn-in. It is deliberately worthless, despite the glow on its pickup.
- Patches sells an unlimited supply for 100 runes each, but its sale value is zero. Buying and reselling it cannot produce a profit or recover the purchase price.
- It does not light dark areas, mark a safe fall like a Rainbow Stone, or work as a throwing weapon. The description's sparkle is not a hidden utility effect.
- Some loose pickups serve as bait for ambushes. Look around a glowing item before running toward it, especially when enemies or a suspiciously open cliff edge are nearby.
- You can carry 99 and keep 600 more in storage, but there is no progression benefit to filling either limit. You do not need to kill Patches to obtain it.
