Before you go

• O Mother gesture.
• Reach Shadow Keep, Back Gate.

1. Collect O Mother from the corpse beside the headless statue north of Bonny Village.
2. Enter Shadow Keep from Church District Entrance, reached by the road north from Bonny Village. Jump across the roofs and use the large stone support to reach the church roof.
3. Drop through the roof opening onto the rafters, then onto the upper church corridor. Take the second passage on the left to the lift for Storehouse, Back Section.
4. Climb the ladder near that grace. Turn right upstairs and follow the shelves to the break in the outer wall. Use the outside ledge to reach Storehouse, Loft.
5. Ride the loft lift into the rafters, follow the beams toward the northern exit and take the outer descending lifts to Shadow Keep, Back Gate. This route does not require fighting Messmer.
6. Enter the small side room with Marika's statue and perform O Mother in front of it. Follow the revealed passage to Hinterland.
7. Follow the road past the Tree Sentinels, then take the rising path southeast toward the quiet Shaman Village.
8. Search the hollow, decayed tree in the village and collect Golden Braid from inside. Neither Gaius nor the Tree Sentinels must be defeated for this pickup.

Notes

• Reduces incoming holy damage by 22% from enemies and 7% from other players. It is the strongest holy-protection talisman in this family.
• Cannot be equipped with any Haligdrake Talisman variant. You can combine it with compatible armor and other protection, but damage reductions multiply rather than adding directly.
• For example, armor giving 20% holy negation combined with the braid gives 37.6% overall holy protection against enemies.
• Only the holy part of a mixed attack is reduced. Physical damage, other elements and Death Blight buildup need their own protection.
• It does not raise Faith or increase the damage of your holy weapons and incantations.
• O Mother opens the hidden passage beside Shadow Keep, Back Gate. Messmer, Commander Gaius and the Hinterland Tree Sentinels do not have to be defeated to collect the braid from Shaman Village.
