Starting Site of Grace: Inner Aeonia
- From Inner Aeonia, search the swamp around Commander O'Neil's area for Cleanrot Knights carrying a scythe. Keep a way to remove Scarlet Rot ready while crossing the swamp.
- Defeat the scythe carriers and check their dropped items. The spear-carrying Cleanrot Knights drop a different weapon.
- Rest at the grace and repeat if needed. Halo Scythe is a random drop; defeating Commander O'Neil is not required.
Notes
- Requires 13 Strength, 16 Dexterity and 15 Faith, and weighs 8.5. Dexterity provides the strongest Physical scaling, Strength contributes less, and Faith improves Holy damage.
- Ordinary full-status hits apply 55 Blood Loss buildup. It has no Arcane scaling, so raising Arcane does not improve this fixed buildup.
- Miquella's Ring of Light costs 11 FP per ring. Repeated skill inputs keep firing while FP and stamina last, without needing to finish a separate combo first.
- The ring deals Holy damage that improves through Faith and weapon upgrades independently of ordinary blade damage. Dexterity strengthens the scythe without strengthening that independent projectile.
- At close range, the casting slash and ring can both connect. The blade carries Blood Loss, but the ring has no Blood Loss buildup of its own.
- The ring deals 3 stance damage. The blade adds its own contact, so firing from a distance is useful for safety rather than a fast guaranteed stance break.
- Shard of Alexander and Holy damage bonuses improve the ring. Godfrey Icon does not because it cannot be charged, and Dryleaf Seal does not boost a weapon skill just because it resembles a ring incantation.
- Walls, branches and other scenery can stop the ring. Very close targets can also be awkward for its launch path, so leave enough room for the projectile instead of pressing directly into a large enemy.
- Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Its skill and affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
- Only scythe-carrying Cleanrot Knights drop this weapon. The spear carriers, Commander O'Neil and the transferable Sacred Ring of Light Ash give different rewards.
