Where to find
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Cliffbottom Catacombs
- From Liurnia Highway North grace, descend along the outside of the eastern cliff. Loop around the sloping rock at the bottom and look back along the cliff face for Cliffbottom Catacombs.
- Activate the entrance grace and take the lift down. Clear the imps in the first corridor, including the one hiding around the right corner. Descend to the locked boss doors, then take the passage to their right.
- Follow the passage into the large chamber where stairs cross above a deep Omen-filled floor. The lever is visible across the chamber but cannot be reached directly from these stairs.
- Stay on the normal stairway instead of dropping to the bottom. Follow the passage, avoiding its floor pressure plate and the imp overhead, to the room with stairs on the left and a sleeping Omen underneath.
- Pass the sleeping Omen and climb the stairs. An imp statue seals the side room here; the next Omen patrols beyond the staircase. Wait for it to turn away or fight it before stopping at the seal.
- Leave the key seal alone and continue up the next stairs. Keep clear of the imps on the right and enter the corridor beyond, watching for the pressure plate at the doorway.
- Continue into the next passage and turn left into the room guarded by imps. Another pressure plate sits near its entrance, so draw the enemies into the hall instead of charging between them.
- Loot Scythe from the corpse inside. You do not need to spend a Stonesword Key, pull the boss lever or defeat the Watchdog for this weapon.
Notes
- Requires 14 Strength and 14 Dexterity, and weighs 7.5. Standard affinity gives its physical damage stronger Dexterity scaling than Strength; Keen favors a Dexterity-focused setup.
- Has 55 native Blood Loss buildup on Standard. Arcane does not improve that buildup unless an affinity gives the weapon Arcane scaling, such as Blood or Occult.
- Its heavy attack uses two cuts, giving it a different rhythm from the Grave Scythe's heavier single swings. Both cuts must connect for the complete combination, so leave enough time for the second swing rather than trading hits during the windup.
- Normal strikes bypass half of an opponent's guarded damage negation. This lets them chip through blocking, but does not ignore the target's armor, resistances or every form of defense.
- Starts with Spinning Slash: the first input costs six FP, with a 12-FP follow-up. Can use compatible Ashes of War and different affinities.
- Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs. Native bleeding does not prevent an enchantment on Standard, Heavy, Keen or Quality.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones to +25. Its critical rating is the normal 100; it is not the same weapon as Grave Scythe or the Holy-damage Halo Scythe.
- A fixed corpse pickup in Cliffbottom Catacombs, so there is no need to farm skeletons for it. The key-sealed helmet room and Watchdog boss are optional for this pickup.
