About this Ash of War
The first skill input makes two crossing cuts for 6 FP. Press the skill button again for three more cuts at 3 FP, then once more for the single finishing strike at another 3 FP. The full six-hit sequence costs 12 FP.
Each continuation is a separate decision. Stop after an early part when the enemy is preparing a counter rather than committing to all six hits in a short opening.
Damage uses the weapon's attack power and affinity. It has no separate ranged bloodflame wave and does not add innate blood loss to a weapon that lacks it.

Where to find
Scarab on the western tree branch in Sellia
Caelid
Starting Site of Grace: Sellia Under-Stair
- From Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank, follow the road north through Sellia Gateway. Watch for the giant throwing rocks above the gateway. Gowry's wooden shack is off the road on the right, before the town.
- Continue north into Sellia, Town of Sorcery. Activate Sellia Under-Stair on the southwestern edge and follow the main street north, watching for sorcerers appearing beside the buildings.
- Climb the stairs at the far end toward the golden sapling and the sealed upper gate. The large roots beside these steps provide the way onto the roofs.
- Use the roots beside the northern stairs to get onto the roofs, then cross toward the southern candle tower on the western side of town.
- Look for the Teardrop Scarab perched on the large branch beside this roof route. Hit it with a ranged attack from a safe roof, or approach along the adjoining branch and kill it before it teleports away.
- The scarab awards Ash of War: Double Slash. You do not need to finish lighting the towers or defeat the Nox duo for this drop.
Notes
- The first skill input makes two crossing cuts for 6 FP. Press the skill button again for three more cuts at 3 FP, then once more for the single finishing strike at another 3 FP. The full six-hit sequence costs 12 FP.
- Each continuation is a separate decision. Stop after an early part when the enemy is preparing a counter rather than committing to all six hits in a short opening.
- Damage uses the weapon's attack power and affinity. It has no separate ranged bloodflame wave and does not add innate blood loss to a weapon that lacks it.
- The repeated contacts can apply the weapon's existing statuses and build repeated-hit bonuses. Not every swing uses the full ordinary-hit status amount, so six contacts do not guarantee six full hits of listed buildup.
- The animation differs with weapon class. Smaller swords and katanas perform the lighter sequence, while greatswords and polearms have slower versions and different reach.
- Shard of Alexander boosts the skill's damage, and repeated-hit equipment can help during a complete connecting sequence. Godfrey Icon does not give it a charged-skill bonus.
- Compatible weapon classes: Dagger, Straight Sword, Greatsword, Curved Sword, Curved Greatsword, Katana, Twinblade, Halberd, Reaper, Throwing Blade, Light Greatsword, Great Katana. A weapon with a fixed skill cannot use this Ash of War.
- Its default affinity is Keen. The supported choices are Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood and Occult; the appropriate whetblade is needed for additional options.
- Serpentbone Blade has a fixed version of Double Slash, but finding this transferable Ash does not let you change that weapon's fixed skill or affinity.
