About this Ash of War

This Ash of War grants an armament the Sacred affinity and the following skill:

"Golden Vow: Skill passed down from antiquity among the knights of the capital. Raise armament aloft and pledge to honor the Erdtree in battle, granting self and nearby allies increased attack power and defense."

Usable on all melee armaments.

Starting Site of Grace: Warmaster's Shack

1. From Stormhill Shack, take the eastern road to Warmaster's Shack. The mounted knight is on the upper hill northeast of that shack, above the catacomb entrance.
2. From Warmaster's Shack, ride northeast onto the hill above Deathtouched Catacombs. Stay on the upper grassland instead of entering the catacomb doorway below.
3. Look for the mounted Godrick Knight patrolling the hill. Clear the smaller enemies if they are complicating the fight.
4. Defeat this knight to receive Golden Vow. The Tree Sentinel near the starting area gives a different reward.

Notes

• For 45 seconds, increases damage dealt by 11.5% against enemies or 2.5% against players, and reduces incoming damage by 7.5% against enemies or 1.5% against players.
• Covers physical and elemental damage. Nearby allies can receive it when you use the skill, so gather close before activating it.
• This is an aura buff. It does not stack with the Golden Vow incantation, crafted Golden Vow item, Shared Order or Uplifting Aromatic's competing attack aura.
• A body buff such as Boiled Crab or Flame, Grant Me Strength and a compatible weapon enchantment can coexist. Their reductions and increases combine based on their separate effects.
• The aura remains when you switch weapons. Putting the Ash on a spare compatible dagger is an option when your main weapon has a different skill.
• Has no Faith requirement beyond whatever the chosen weapon needs. More Faith, reinforcement or Shard of Alexander does not improve the fixed percentages.
• Costs 40 FP. The stronger incantation lasts 80 seconds and needs 25 Faith; this transferable Ash is a separate version. Old Lord's Talisman does not extend this weapon skill.
• The mounted knight above Deathtouched Catacombs gives a guaranteed transferable copy. The Tree Sentinel near the starting area is a different encounter, even though Golden Halberd also has Golden Vow.
• Compatible weapon classes: Dagger, Straight Sword, Greatsword, Colossal Sword, Curved Sword, Curved Greatsword, Katana, Twinblade, Thrusting Sword, Heavy Thrusting Sword, Axe, Greataxe, Hammer, Great Hammer, Flail, Spear, Great Spear, Halberd, Reaper, Fist, Claw, Whip, Colossal Weapon, Hand-to-Hand, Thrusting Shield, Throwing Blade, Backhand Blade, Light Greatsword, Great Katana, Beast Claw. A weapon with a fixed skill cannot use this Ash of War.
• Its default affinity is Sacred. The supported choices are Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality, Lightning and Sacred; the appropriate whetblade is needed for additional options.
