About this Ash of War
Costs 10 FP per ring. Repeating the skill keeps sending rings while FP and stamina last, rather than charging one larger ring.
The ring deals pure Holy damage and improves with Faith and weapon upgrades independently of ordinary weapon attack power. Sacred affinity gives it stronger Faith scaling than the other supported affinities.
The casting slash uses 65% of the weapon's attack power and can apply its ordinary status buildup. The ring has its own damage calculation and carries no weapon status or grease buildup.

In-game description
This Ash of War grants an armament the Sacred affinity and the following skill:
"Sacred Ring of Light: Skill used by the commanders of the Cleanrot Knights. Gather a sacred ring of light in the armament, then fire it forwards. Can be fired in rapid succession."
Usable on polearms (great spears excepted).
Where to find
Eastern edge of the Swamp of Aeonia
Caelid
Starting Site of Grace: Heart of Aeonia
- Reach the Swamp of Aeonia in central Caelid. Heart of Aeonia is the grace in the area occupied by Commander O'Neil.
- Travel east out of the central swamp toward its dry edge. Torrent helps you cross the rot-covered ground without standing in it.
- Look for the scarab on the eastern side and kill it for Sacred Ring of Light. O'Neil is not the enemy that drops this Ash.
Notes
- Costs 10 FP per ring. Repeating the skill keeps sending rings while FP and stamina last, rather than charging one larger ring.
- The ring deals pure Holy damage and improves with Faith and weapon upgrades independently of ordinary weapon attack power. Sacred affinity gives it stronger Faith scaling than the other supported affinities.
- The casting slash uses 65% of the weapon's attack power and can apply its ordinary status buildup. The ring has its own damage calculation and carries no weapon status or grease buildup.
- Both the slash and ring can connect at close range. The ring adds 3 stance damage, while the blade contact adds stance damage based on the weapon class.
- Shard of Alexander and Holy bonuses improve the ring. Godfrey Icon does not because the skill cannot be charged. Incantation bonuses do not improve it simply because it is a golden ring.
- The ring can be stopped by scenery and may miss an enemy pressed too close to the launch point. Leave a little space for its flight path.
- Halo Scythe has a separate fixed skill, Miquella's Ring of Light. That ring costs 11 FP and has a stronger independent projectile; equipping this Ash on another polearm does not give the exact same damage.
- Commander O'Neil does not drop this Ash. Kill the scarab on the eastern edge of Aeonia instead; the swamp's scythe-carrying Cleanrot Knights are a separate Halo Scythe farm.
- Compatible weapon classes: Spear, Halberd, Reaper. A weapon with a fixed skill cannot use this Ash of War.
- Its default affinity is Sacred. The supported choices are Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality, Lightning and Sacred; the appropriate whetblade is needed for additional options.
