Said to be a budding horn. The ancestral followers believe that the horns of a long-lived beast continue to bud like antlers, over and over again, until the beast one day becomes an ancestral spirit.

Before you go

• Reach Lake of Rot.

1. Give Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade from Nokron, then use the waygate at the top of Renna's Rise to reach Ainsel River Main. Renna's Rise is the northern tower in the Three Sisters area behind Caria Manor, separate from Ranni's own tower.
2. Activate Ainsel River Main grace and follow the water through the Claymen toward the hanging creature in Uhl Palace Ruins. Use the ruins on the left as cover from its stone volleys and continue beneath it into the river tunnel.
3. Pass the ants, including the flying ones. At the open cavern, follow the river to the right; the left branch returns toward the lower river merchant.
4. Go through the doorway on the right and down the steps to Nokstella, Eternal City grace. The ordinary Ainsel River Well in Liurnia does not reach this upper entrance.
5. Stay on Nokstella's lower river path instead of taking the stairs into the city. Follow the river to the lift at its far end and ride down to Nokstella Waterfall Basin grace.
6. Follow the tunnel past the Basilisks. Their clouds cause Death Blight, so move out of the clouds rather than trying to heal through a full buildup bar.
7. If you have spoken to Miniature Ranni and accepted her request, the Baleful Shadow appears in the open cavern ahead. Defeat it to continue that quest. Speaking to the doll is not a requirement for the map itself.
8. Continue into the building beyond the cavern and ride the lift down to Lake of Rot Shoreside. Activate the grace and prepare a Scarlet Rot cure before leaving the dry shore.
9. Travel southeast across the lake toward the lone Ancestral Follower standing away from the main ruins. Use the raised platforms where practical to limit time in the rot.
10. Defeat that follower to receive the charm. It is a guaranteed talisman drop, not a rare farming target.
11. The Dragonkin Soldier in the lake does not need to be defeated.

Notes

• Adds 140 Immunity against Poison and Scarlet Rot buildup. The basic version gives 90, and the +2 gives 180.
• The name does not mean complete immunity. Lake of Rot can still fill the larger meter while you stand in it.
• Once Poison or Scarlet Rot triggers, this bonus does not cure it or reduce the health drain. Bring the appropriate bolus or cleansing spell for an actual cure.
• Bleed, Frostbite, Sleep, Madness and Death Blight use different resistances and receive no benefit from this charm.
• Cannot be equipped with another Immunizing Horn Charm. Mottled Necklace can provide compatible additional Immunity.
• The lone Ancestral Follower in Lake of Rot gives a guaranteed reward. Item Discovery does not need to be raised, and the lake's Dragonkin Soldier is optional.
