About this item
Keep it for NPC dialogue rather than using it as an ordinary consumable. Giving it to Queelign awards Fire Knight Queelign ashes; giving it to Jolan awards Swordhand of Night Jolan ashes.
Each NPC offers a mutually exclusive choice between an iris reward. Giving Iris of Grace prevents that NPC's Iris of Occultation weapon reward in the same journey.
There are two fixed irises, enough to choose the ash outcome for both NPCs. Take care not to consume one from your inventory first.

In-game description
An iris blessed with an incantation of the Erdtree.
Place on the eye of another to grant them the light of grace as a fleeing blessing.
Can also be used to receive the blessing of an equipped Great Rune.
In the realm of shadow, this artifice was employed by the priests of the Erdtree to quell the fears of their flock to magnificent effect.
Where to find
Altar below Storehouse, First Floor
Shadow Keep
Starting Site of Grace: Storehouse, First Floor
- Enter the Realm of Shadow after defeating Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, by touching the withered arm in Mohg's arena.
- From Highroad Cross in Scadu Altus, follow the main road north to Shadow Keep's southern gate. Ride the entrance lift and activate Shadow Keep Main Gate grace.
- Defeat Golden Hippopotamus in the plaza. This is the front-door route; the flooded Church District provides a different way into the keep.
- From Main Gate Plaza, leave through the west-northwest doorway, pass through the armory and climb the stairs. Continue up the wooden steps to the dining hall, where two Black Knights guard the route.
- Leave the dining hall through its southeastern exit to the upper rampart. Follow the rampart past the burning boats and watch for the small Shadow Militiamen hiding beside them.
- Take the stairs leading north-northeast toward the large lift, passing the Fire Knight in front of it. Ride up and activate Storehouse, First Floor grace.
- At Storehouse, First Floor, take the first arch on the left of the central specimen and use the lift down. Follow the lower passage and stairs into the large room with jars.
- Clear the large Jar Innard and the smaller jars near the altar. Collect Iris of Grace from the altar rather than taking the western exit toward West Rampart.
Altar beyond Tree-Worship Passage
Scadutree Base
Starting Site of Grace: Tree-Worship Passage
- From Highroad Cross in Scadu Altus, follow the road east to Moorth Ruins and activate the grace beside the cross.
- Pass through the large stone arch east-southeast of the grace. At the house ahead, turn left toward the leaning tower. Avoid the large open shaft behind the house, which is too deep for a direct drop.
- Find the smaller gap between the broken building and the rock wall in front of the leaning tower. Drop onto the balcony-like ledge, turn right past the dogs and follow the cave inward.
- In the open chamber at the end, take the back-left ledges down onto the lower roof. Look for the small shrine guarded by three Inquisitors and collect Golden Arcs from the chest inside.
- To continue east, drop from the lower roof to the ground and take the cave beside the building on the left. Follow it to the long ladder and climb out of the well at Bonny Village grace.
- Go east through Bonny Village, watching for the large cleaver-wielding villagers, and cross the two suspension bridges. The second brings you to Bridge Leading to the Village grace.
- Follow the road north through the woods to Church District Highroad grace. Take the northwestern road through the entrance tunnel and activate Church District Entrance inside Shadow Keep. This eastern entrance leads to the flooded district, rather than the main-gate Hippopotamus arena.
- Jump from the entrance ledge onto the first roof below. Follow its northwestern edge and jump from the raised roof section to the stone wall opposite, rather than taking the southwestern log platforms toward different loot.
- Follow the wall around and climb its northeastern rise. Jump to the next roof northwest, where a Fire Knight patrols. Clear it or make enough room to continue safely.
- Cross toward the next large church and jump onto the sloping stone support on your left. Walk southwest up that support to the high roof, then use the broken roof opening to drop onto the central beam below.
- Follow the beam to the adjoining upper corridor and drop through the opening in its floor onto the raised church passage. Stay above the water and continue northwest; the Prayer Room door is a separate side destination.
- Pass the small side room holding a Rune of an Unsung Hero and continue into the corridor patrolled by two Fire Knights. The first left exit leads toward the drainage wheel, while the later left exit leads to the Storehouse lift.
- Take the first left exit and cross the small bridge outside. Clear the bats, go up the steps and jump the narrow gap in the walkway before the tall lamp.
- Climb the ladder to the large wheel and operate it from the side to drain the district. This permanently opens the lower ground for the current journey.
- Climb back down and use the nearby doorway and lower platforms to descend to the exposed ground. Enter the small chapel nearby and activate Sunken Chapel grace.
- From Sunken Chapel, enter the large church with Marika's headless statue. Deal with Wego and the burning corpses, then use the passage on the right near the rear of the church.
- Follow the corridor past the bookcase to its lift and ride down. Activate Tree-Worship Passage, follow the decline and cross the bridge to the small church. Collect the Iris of Grace below Marika's statue. Tree-Worship Sanctum is farther down the stairs, and the Scadutree Avatar fight is unnecessary.
Notes
- Keep it for NPC dialogue rather than using it as an ordinary consumable. Giving it to Queelign awards Fire Knight Queelign ashes; giving it to Jolan awards Swordhand of Night Jolan ashes.
- Each NPC offers a mutually exclusive choice between an iris reward. Giving Iris of Grace prevents that NPC's Iris of Occultation weapon reward in the same journey.
- There are two fixed irises, enough to choose the ash outcome for both NPCs. Take care not to consume one from your inventory first.
- Jolan's ash can later be combined with Anna through her separate continuation. Receiving Sword of Night instead closes that ash path.
- Using it directly grants the blessing of your equipped Great Rune, like a Rune Arc. That consumes a scarce quest choice, so save it for dialogue if you want either spirit.
- The church iris is after Tree-Worship Passage and before the descent to Tree-Worship Sanctum. You do not need to defeat the Scadutree Avatar for it.
- Queelign waits behind the Prayer Room door after his two invasions. Jolán receives the iris only when wounded after Metyr and the final Ymir encounter; their earlier appearances are not the final reward conversation.
