Experimental firearm brought to the assault on Volcano Manor, where it was discovered that no one knew how to use it.

Starting Site of Grace: Volcano Cave
Before you go
- Reach the northern slopes of Mt. Gelmir.
- Reach Altus Plateau using both Dectus Medallion halves at the Grand Lift of Dectus, or climb the Ruin-Strewn Precipice and defeat Magma Wyrm Makar.
- Travel around northern Altus and cross the rope bridge near Writheblood Ruins to Bridge of Iniquity. Follow the lower road with the cliff on your left.
- Near the Abductor Virgins, find the long ladder between two torches on that left cliff. Climb it and activate First Mt. Gelmir Campsite on the upper ledge.
- Continue northwest past the siege tower and cross the narrow natural rock bridge. A Grafted Scion drops into the next camp; defeat it or move past it to climb the ladder against the cliff.
- At the next landing, take the ladder on the left. The merchant is on the ledge along this climb. Stop at his campfire before continuing higher toward Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite.
- Continue up the remaining ladders and reach Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite beside the high rope bridge. Do not use the spiritspring to the Fallingstar Beast arena for this pickup.
- Follow the lower mountainside northeast from the campsite to Volcano Cave in the cliff. Enter and activate its grace.
- Descend through the Demi-Human chambers to the lower cavern. Pass the large Chieftain and take the lower passage to the boss fog; the middle-ledge side room is a different pickup.
- Defeat Demi-Human Queen Margot to receive Jar Cannon directly.
Notes
- It has no attribute damage scaling. Its damage comes from the upgraded cannon and its greatbolts, rather than additional Strength beyond what you need to use it.
- The listed requirements are 34 Strength and 12 Dexterity. Two-handing lets you satisfy the Strength requirement with 23 actual Strength; the Dexterity requirement remains 12.
- Only greatbolts work with it. Ordinary crossbow bolts and greatarrows cannot be loaded into the cannon.
- It hits hard but reloads slowly and weighs 15. Use the space between shots deliberately; this is not a quick repeating crossbow.
- Kick is fixed, and you cannot change its affinity or apply a weapon enchantment or grease. Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones, up to +10.
- The cannon fires with both hands. Its strong base damage and ammunition supply the shot's power; it has no Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence or Faith damage scaling.
- Explosive Greatbolts can hit something beside their landing point, making shots at the ground or a wall useful against cover. Lightning Greatbolts give a different elemental option.
- It is a fixed reward from Demi-Human Queen Margot in Volcano Cave. Demi-Human Queen Maggie outside Hermit Village is a different boss and does not drop it.
