About this item
Use it from your inventory, quick items or pouch to light the area around your waist. Both hands stay free for weapons, shields or casting tools.
The Lantern is reusable, costs no FP and is not consumed when switched on. Use it again to turn it off; buying replacement copies is unnecessary.
A torch lights a wider area. The Lantern is useful when you want to keep your shield, use two weapons or hold a weapon in both hands in a dark tunnel.

In-game description
A small waist-worn lantern that illuminates surroundings.
Use once to turn on, and again to turn off.
While its light is dimmer than that of a torch,
it has the advantage of freeing up the user's hands.
Where to find
Nomadic Merchant at Liurnia Lake Shore
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Liurnia Lake Shore
Before you go
- Reach Lake-Facing Cliffs behind Stormveil Castle, either through the castle or by taking the cliff path around its eastern side.
- Follow the road down past the soldiers' camp to Liurnia Lake Shore grace.
- Find the merchant's camp beside the grace and buy the Lantern for 1,800 runes.
Isolated Merchant's Shack on the western coast
Weeping Peninsula
Starting Site of Grace: Isolated Merchant's Shack
Before you go
- Cross the Bridge of Sacrifice into Weeping Peninsula, then take the western roads toward Fourth Church of Marika.
- Head south from the church and the nearby Walking Mausoleum toward the isolated shack at the western edge of the peninsula. The merchant sits at the shack beside its own grace.
- Buy the Lantern for 1,800 runes. This merchant and the one at Liurnia Lake Shore each sell one; either purchase gives you the same reusable light.
Notes
- Use it from your inventory, quick items or pouch to light the area around your waist. Both hands stay free for weapons, shields or casting tools.
- The Lantern is reusable, costs no FP and is not consumed when switched on. Use it again to turn it off; buying replacement copies is unnecessary.
- A torch lights a wider area. The Lantern is useful when you want to keep your shield, use two weapons or hold a weapon in both hands in a dark tunnel.
- Switch it on before walking into enemies. The short activation animation does not stop them from attacking.
- Its light does not reveal invisible Black Knife Assassins. Sentry's Torch has a separate effect for that.
