About this item

Use it from the inventory to travel to the approach of Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. It is reusable, costs no FP and works offline.

You can use it as soon as Varre gives it to you. His request to wait is story dialogue, not a timer, boss requirement or hidden activation condition.

The medal provides an early route to Mohgwyn Palace without first reaching Consecrated Snowfield. It does not place you inside Mohg's boss arena or defeat any enemies for you.

Where to find

Varre's final Rose Church conversation

Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Fallen Ruins of the Lake

Before you go

  • Complete Varre's anointing.
  1. Defeat a Shardbearer such as Godrick, then speak to Finger Reader Enia at Roundtable Hold.
  2. Find Varre at Rose Church on an island southwest of Raya Lucaria Academy in Liurnia. Tell him the Two Fingers did not seem right and receive his Festering Bloody Fingers.
  3. Attempt three player invasions, or use the red invasion sign at Writheblood Ruins in Altus Plateau to defeat Magnus the Beast Claw. Defeating Magnus once satisfies this stage without online play.
  4. Return to Varre and accept the anointing to receive Lord of Blood's Favor.
  5. For maiden's blood without killing a friendly NPC, go to the Church of Inhibition in northeastern Liurnia. Follow the uphill route past Frenzied Flame Village, take cover from the tower's Madness and deal with Vyke if he invades.
  6. Interact with the dead maiden seated inside the church to stain the favor. Return to Varre at Rose Church and agree to offer your finger.
  7. After receiving Bloody Finger, continue speaking to Varre. He gives you Pureblood Knight's Medal; do not leave after the finger reward.

Notes

  • Use it from the inventory to travel to the approach of Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. It is reusable, costs no FP and works offline.
  • You can use it as soon as Varre gives it to you. His request to wait is story dialogue, not a timer, boss requirement or hidden activation condition.
  • The medal provides an early route to Mohgwyn Palace without first reaching Consecrated Snowfield. It does not place you inside Mohg's boss arena or defeat any enemies for you.
  • The area is much more dangerous than early Limgrave. Activate the nearby grace and use normal fast travel when safe if you arrive before you are ready to explore.
  • Continue Varre's dialogue after he awards Bloody Finger. Leaving immediately after the finger ritual can make it look as though the medal reward is missing.
  • The invasion requirement earlier in his quest can be completed by three player-invasion attempts or one victory over Magnus the Beast Claw at Writheblood Ruins. Online victories are not required.
  • Killing Varre before receiving the medal prevents this early quest route. The Consecrated Snowfield sending gate remains a separate later route into the palace.
  • Varre's later red sign in the mausoleum is a different quest event. You do not need to defeat him there to activate the medal or enter Mohgwyn Palace.
  • Entering the Realm of Shadow still requires defeating both Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood. Owning the medal only supplies access to Mohg's region.
