In-game description

Remembrance of Malenia, Goddess of Rot, hewn into the Erdtree.

The power of its namesake can be unlocked by the Finger Reader.

Alternatively, it can be used to gain a great bounty of runes.

Miquella and Malenia are both the children of a single god. As such they are both Empyreans, but suffered afflictions from birth. One was cursed with eternal childhood, and the other harbored rot within.

Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree

Starting Site of Grace: Haligtree Roots

  1. Collect both Haligtree Secret Medallion halves, use the secret-medallion action at the Grand Lift of Rold and cross Consecrated Snowfield to Ordina.
  2. Complete Ordina's evergaol by lighting its four figures, then use the sending gate above the town to enter Miquella's Haligtree.
  3. Follow the canopy and town downward, defeat Loretta and take the long descent into Elphael.
  4. Continue through Prayer Room and Elphael Inner Wall, cross the rot-filled chamber and descend to Drainage Channel.
  5. Leave Drainage Channel along the roots and buttresses to the chapel roof, drop inside and take the lift down to Haligtree Roots.
  6. Enter the nearby fog and defeat Malenia through both phases for the remembrance.

  • Consuming it gives 50,000 runes and spends the remembrance. Check the unique rewards before choosing the runes.
  • A Walking Mausoleum with a bell or a remembrance-duplication coffin in the Realm of Shadow can make another copy after you have earned it. Each mausoleum or coffin can be used once.
  • Duplication still works after the original has been exchanged or consumed. It does not reset the stock of an Enia reward you already claimed in this journey.
  • Hand of Malenia is a katana with Waterfowl Dance. Scarlet Aeonia is an incantation requiring a sacred seal and three memory slots.
  • The katana does not inherit Malenia's boss healing on every hit. Its name and appearance do not turn it into a health-stealing weapon.
