Where to find

Leda's reward for the Ansbach invasion

Scadu Altus

Starting Site of Grace: Highroad Cross

Before you go

  • Keep Leda's Ansbach hunt available.
  • Assist Leda against Ansbach.
  1. Enter the Realm of Shadow after defeating Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, by touching the withered arm in Mohg's arena. From Three-Path Cross, follow the western road toward Belurat and speak to Ansbach at Main Gate Cross.
  2. After the message that Miquella's great rune and charm have broken, return to Ansbach and finish his new dialogue. He moves to the Specimen Storehouse in Shadow Keep.
  3. From Highroad Cross in Scadu Altus, follow the main road north to Shadow Keep's southern gate. Ride the entrance lift and activate Shadow Keep Main Gate grace.
  4. Defeat Golden Hippopotamus in the plaza. This is the front-door route; the flooded Church District provides a different way into the keep.
  5. From Main Gate Plaza, leave through the west-northwest doorway, pass through the armory and climb the stairs. Continue up the wooden steps to the dining hall, where two Black Knights guard the route.
  6. Leave the dining hall through its southeastern exit to the upper rampart. Follow the rampart past the burning boats and watch for the small Shadow Militiamen hiding beside them.
  7. Take the stairs leading north-northeast toward the large lift, passing the Fire Knight in front of it. Ride up and activate Storehouse, First Floor grace.
  8. At Storehouse, First Floor, take the stairs beside the central specimen and follow the shelves north. Before climbing farther, take the right-hand passage down to the room with the altar and skeletons. Finish Ansbach's dialogue in its corner.
  9. Before giving him Secret Rite Scroll, speak to Freyja on Storehouse, Seventh Floor if you want her shield reward too. Her investigation supplies a conversation option with Ansbach that can be missed if he leaves first.
  10. Return upstairs and follow the shelf-lined walkways up the next two levels. Watch for Shadow Militiamen beside the stairs and the Fire Knight on the third-floor walkway.
  11. Continue southwest past that Fire Knight to the walkway corner where more militiamen approach. Find the large feet of the suspended specimen, climb onto it and follow its body upward.
  12. Jump from the specimen's horns onto the balcony with the cross and activate Storehouse, Fourth Floor grace. The ordinary stair route does not directly replace this climb.
  13. Leave the fourth-floor grace through the western doorway. Follow the outer balcony south, climb past the Fire Knight casting from the next stairs and continue east.
  14. Before continuing up toward the next Storehouse entrance, take the stairs down on the left near the bats. Enter the lower room and collect Secret Rite Scroll beside the shelves at the far edge.
  15. Return to Ansbach, discuss Freyja if following her quest, then give him Secret Rite Scroll and finish his investigation dialogue. Handle Letter for Freyja now if he offers it.
  16. Speak to Leda at Highroad Cross as she chooses her targets. For the later Ansbach encounter, either help Leda against Hornsent at the Shadow Keep signs or leave that earlier confrontation unresolved and challenge Messmer. Helping Hornsent defeat Leda prevents the later bow confrontation.
  17. Return to Leda after the earlier branch and finish her dialogue about Ansbach. Go back to his former Storehouse room and find the two summon signs. Complete this before burning the sealing tree behind Romina.
  18. Use the red sign in Ansbach’s former Storehouse room to help Leda defeat him. This ends his quest and gives different consequences from the gold assistance sign.
  19. Return to Leda at Highroad Cross and finish her dialogue to receive Retaliatory Crossed-Tree. Claim it before burning the sealing tree behind Romina.

Notes

  • Increases qualifying rolling and backstep attacks by 17% against enemies and 12% against other players.
  • It applies to the weapon's dedicated attack out of a roll or backstep. Waiting and then performing an ordinary attack does not make every later hit qualify.
  • It does not improve dodge invulnerability, backstep distance or the damage of unrelated skills used after evading.
  • Leda awards it after you help her defeat Ansbach through the red summon sign. Killing him directly in your own world does not replace that quest event.
  • Helping Ansbach with the gold sign gives a different branch. Choosing Leda ends his quest and removes his later assistance and final rewards.
  • Helping Hornsent against Leda can prevent her later hunt for Ansbach. Decide which quest rewards you want before resolving either confrontation.
  • Complete the summon-sign confrontation before burning the sealing tree behind Romina. The final fight with Leda in Enir-Ilim is a separate event and does not replace this earlier reward.
