Boosts magic damage negation.

The ancient dragons, who ruled in the prehistoric era before the Erdtree, would protect their lord as a wall of living rock.

And so it is that the shape of the dragon has become symbolic of all manner of protections.

Starting Site of Grace: Earthbore Cave

  1. Cross Bridge of Sacrifice into the Weeping Peninsula. Search the northern cliff between Forest Lookout Tower to the east and Demi-Human Forest Ruins to the west for Earthbore Cave.
  2. Activate the grace inside and approach the first chest carefully. The weak floor in front can collapse into the rat-filled lower cave.
  3. Clear the rats and follow the descending passages and ledges. A large rat mixes with the smaller ones, so avoid dropping into the whole group at once.
  4. At the bottom, take the final drop into the Runebear arena and defeat it for Spelldrake Talisman. The chest near the entrance contains separate loot.

Notes

  • Reduces incoming Magic damage by 13% against enemies or 4% against other players. The smaller player-versus-player value applies against player attacks, rather than using the enemy reduction everywhere.
  • Only the Magic part of a mixed hit receives this reduction. It does not make every attack from an enemy using that element deal less damage.
  • Cannot be equipped with another Spelldrake variant. Earlier versions are not required to collect or use a stronger one.
  • Pearldrake Talisman can provide another compatible layer against this element. The reductions multiply rather than adding their percentages together.
  • Magic means the damage type, rather than every spell. Physical sorceries and Fire, Lightning or Holy incantations are not all covered. This does not raise Intelligence, maximum FP or outgoing sorcery damage.
  • With 25% existing negation for a covered damage type, its 13% enemy reduction gives 34.75% total negation. It is not an extra 13 percentage points added directly to the armor display.
  • The Runebear in Earthbore Cave is the reward encounter. The chest and collapsing floor near the entrance are part of reaching it, rather than the talisman itself.
  • Weighs 0.6. Its protection stays active while equipped; it does not need FP, a casting tool or an attribute requirement.
