In-game description
Sword encrusted with a line of stars fashioned from small pieces of crude glintstone.
Weapon of the demi-human swordsmen.
When bestowed with this weapon by their queen, the swordsmen swear to find the truth that lies at the end of the procession of stars.
Skill
This skill, named after a demi-human swordmaster, imbues sorcerous energy into lined glintstones and executes a slash attack. Repeated inputs allow for up to two follow-up attacks, each dealing greater damage than the last.
Where to find
Cerulean Coast
Starting Site of Grace: Cerulean Coast West
Before you go
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- From Castle Front, ride southeast to the road fork and take the downhill route through the camp.
- At the next fork, go left toward the poison pools. Near the large Miranda flower, follow the lower slope toward the crab and cave entrance.
- Pass the flowers and enter Ellac River Cave. Activate the grace, then follow the shallow river south to the first waterfall.
- Continue south through the river cave and descend the waterfall route on its stone pillars. Activate Ellac River Downstream, then follow the lower river south through the exit toward Cerulean Coast.
- Activate Cerulean Coast and follow the coast west to Cerulean Coast West. The beach and its ravines are below the higher Gravesite Plain roads.
- From Cerulean Coast West, ride east around the enormous stone coffin, then turn left into the northeastern ravine. Keep to the northern branch where the path divides.
- Follow the ravine out to the secluded northern beach. Defeat Demi-Human Queen Marigga among the smaller Demi-Humans to receive Star-Lined Sword. The Spirit Sword corpse in the other branch is a separate pickup.
Notes
- Requires 10 Strength, 23 Dexterity and 21 Intelligence, and weighs 5. Dexterity is the strongest scaling attribute for its Physical damage, Intelligence improves Magic damage, and Strength contributes less.
- Applies 45 Blood Loss buildup on ordinary contacts. It has no Arcane scaling, so Arcane does not increase that fixed buildup.
- Onze's Line of Stars starts with a two-hit slash for 10 FP. Two more skill inputs extend it into another pair of slashes and a final airborne pair, at 8 FP per extra input. All three stages cost 26 FP in total.
- The blue extension lengthens the sword's reach during the sequence. The attacks use the weapon's Physical and Magic attack power, rather than a separate purely Intelligence-scaled ranged spell.
- Later stages are stronger but need a much longer opening. You can stop after an earlier stage instead of forcing the airborne finish into the enemy's next attack.
- Much of the stance pressure comes at the end. Regular enemies may stagger through several slashes, but a boss that resists those reactions can punish the long sequence.
- Shard of Alexander improves the skill, and consecutive-hit bonuses can build up as the slashes connect. Godfrey Icon does not help because the sequence cannot be charged.
- The first four slashes can be parried. The disappearing airborne finish does not make the entire sequence an invulnerable dodge.
- It does not inflict Frostbite, despite the cold attacks used by Demi-Human Swordmaster Onze. Onze in Belurat Gaol gives Yosh's ashes; Queen Marigga gives this sword.
- Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Its skill and affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
