Before you go

  • Follow Yura's quest before reaching Grand Lift of Rold.
  1. In Limgrave, enter the ravine north of Agheel Lake and defeat Bloody Finger Nerijus with Yura's help. Speak to Yura farther north in the ravine afterward.
  2. Take the Academy Glintstone Key from the corpse behind Smarag, north of Temple Quarter in western Liurnia. You can collect it without defeating the dragon.
  3. Use the Academy Glintstone Key at the seal at South Raya Lucaria Gate and activate Main Academy Gate grace.
  4. Walk north along the bridge past the blue seal without activating it. Find Yura's red summon sign near the broken end.
  5. Use the sign and defeat the Ravenmount Assassin in Yura's world. You receive Raptor of the Mists after returning.
  6. Back in your world, speak to Yura farther along the bridge and finish his dialogue. From Altus Highway Junction, follow the road north, then leave it to the west toward the ruined Second Church of Marika on the lower ground.
  7. Speak to the wounded Yura inside the church. Finish his final conversation and collect Nagakiba. Remain prepared for Eleonora's invasion afterward.

Before you go

  • Reach Grand Lift of Rold without completing Yura's church encounter.
  1. After Yura's body is taken over by Shabriri, check Yura's earlier locations for the weapon: his camp near Seaside Ruins, the overhang north of Murkwater Cave, and the bridge beyond Main Academy Gate.
  2. Collect Nagakiba from the place where he was left in your quest progress. Killing Shabriri at Zamor Ruins is not the Nagakiba reward route.

Notes

  • Requires 18 Strength and 22 Dexterity, and weighs 7. With Standard affinity, Dexterity provides the strongest scaling and Strength contributes less. Keen favors Dexterity further; other affinities change the attribute split.
  • Its unusually long blade gives it greater reach than the shorter ordinary katanas. The heavy attacks thrust forward, making the extra reach useful for catching an enemy at the end of its attack.
  • Starts with 45 Blood Loss buildup. Standard and Keen have no Arcane scaling, so raising Arcane alone does not improve that bleed.
  • Blood, Poison and Occult affinities add Arcane scaling and allow Arcane to improve its innate bleed. Occult emphasizes Arcane-scaled weapon damage, while Blood adds more buildup at the cost of a different damage profile.
  • Cold adds Magic damage and Frostbite while retaining the katana's innate bleed. It does not add Arcane scaling, so Arcane does not improve that retained bleed just because the weapon now has two status effects.
  • Yura's weapon comes with the removable Piercing Fang Ash of War attached. Removing it exposes the weapon's underlying Unsheathe skill; Piercing Fang is not a permanently locked unique skill.
  • Can use compatible Ashes of War. The selected skill and your whetblades determine the available affinities. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
  • Uses Smithing Stones to +25. Its reach does not remove the need to meet both attribute requirements, and a long thrust can still pass beside a small moving target.
  • Following Yura through Nerijus and the academy bridge preserves the Raptor of the Mists reward before the church encounter. Defeating Agheel is unnecessary for this weapon route.
  • Killing Yura early also gives Nagakiba, but ends his quest and can forfeit his later reward. If he has already become Shabriri, look for the sword at Yura's former position; killing Shabriri is not the sword's reward trigger.
