Effects
Restores 3% of maximum HP plus 30 HP when a nearby enemy dies. With 2,000 maximum HP, a qualifying death restores 90 HP. It weighs 1.0.
This is healing from deaths, rather than healing on every hit or continuous regeneration. A lone boss supplies no repeated enemy deaths during most of the fight, so the talisman is usually more useful while clearing groups.
The effect does not require making the killing hit with a particular weapon. It does not restore FP, improve Crimson Flask healing or prevent damage before a kill occurs.

In-game description
A talisman engraved with a stern likeness of Praetor Rykard, master of Volcano Manor.
Restores HP upon defeating enemies.
When Rykard turned to heresy, taking by force became the rule. The gods themselves were no different, after all.
Where to find
Tanith, or the drawing-room table after her departure
Mt. Gelmir
Starting Site of Grace: Volcano Manor
Before you go
- Obtain the Red Letter after the first two main manor contracts.
- Reach the Mountaintops of the Giants and defeat Juno Hoslow.
- At Scenic Isle in southern Liurnia, head east toward the stone gazebo near the telescope. Speak to Rya about her stolen necklace before entering Volcano Manor, which ends this early meeting.
- Ride northwest across the shallow lake to Boilprawn Shack. Talk to Boggart beside the cooking pot, ask for the necklace and choose Deal to open the purchase.
- Buy Rya's Necklace for 1,000 runes. Buying it keeps Boggart alive and opens his prawn shop; purchase at least one Boiled Prawn if you want his later move and crab stock.
- Return to Rya in the gazebo and give her the necklace. Finish her dialogue to receive Volcano Manor Invitation.
- Reach Altus Plateau through the Grand Lift of Dectus with the medallion halves from Fort Haight and Fort Faroth, or by defeating Magma Wyrm Makar at Ruin-Strewn Precipice. Rya waits at the top of Dectus for lift arrivals, or by Lux Ruins near Erdtree-Gazing Hill for the precipice route. Speak to her and accept her hand to travel to Volcano Manor.
- At Volcano Manor in Mt. Gelmir, speak to Tanith beside the armored knight and agree to join. Take the Drawing-Room Key and open the drawing room down the corridor. Collect the Letter from Volcano Manor from its table.
- Read the letter to mark Old Knight Istvan on the map. In Limgrave, start at Warmaster's Shack east of Stormhill Shack and head north toward the colosseum. Find the red invasion sign below the approach to its entrance.
- Use the red sign and defeat Old Knight Istvan in his world. This is the contract target, rather than a roaming knight. Winning gives all four regular Scaled armor pieces directly.
- Return to Tanith and report the completed request for Magma Shot. Her spell reward is separate from the armor, and reporting the kill makes the next letter available.
- Collect the second Letter from Volcano Manor from the drawing-room table. It names Rileigh the Idle in the Altus valley south of the Shaded Castle.
- From Bridge of Iniquity, cross east and go south to the spiritspring. Use Torrent to descend safely in the spring, then continue southwest to the second spiritspring and descend again to the valley floor.
- Head north through the valley to the red sign at the letter's map marker. Defeat Rileigh for Crepus's Vial and 20 Black-Key Bolts. Return to Tanith for Serpentbone Blade before continuing the manor quests.
- Collect the Red Letter from the drawing-room table. It marks Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood, near Shack of the Lofty in the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- For the normal Mountaintops route, defeat Morgott in Leyndell, receive the Rold Medallion from Melina and follow the eastern capital exit through Forbidden Lands to the Grand Lift of Rold. Hoist the ordinary Rold Medallion, rather than the Haligtree secret medallion.
- Follow the Mountaintops route past Zamor Ruins and the long narrow bridge to Ancient Snow Valley Ruins. From that grace, head northeast to the frozen stream, then turn west toward Shack of the Lofty.
- Find Juno's red sign just northeast of the shack, near the letter's map marker. Use it and defeat him for Hoslow's Helm, Armor, Gauntlets, Greaves and Hoslow's Petal Whip. His paired whips build blood loss, so avoid standing in their reach through a long combination.
- Return to Tanith for Taker's Cameo. If she has left after Rykard, look on the drawing-room table where the Red Letter was placed. Juno must still be defeated for this reward.
Notes
- Restores 3% of maximum HP plus 30 HP when a nearby enemy dies. With 2,000 maximum HP, a qualifying death restores 90 HP. It weighs 1.0.
- This is healing from deaths, rather than healing on every hit or continuous regeneration. A lone boss supplies no repeated enemy deaths during most of the fight, so the talisman is usually more useful while clearing groups.
- The effect does not require making the killing hit with a particular weapon. It does not restore FP, improve Crimson Flask healing or prevent damage before a kill occurs.
- Can combine with distinct nearby-death healing from Blasphemous Blade, Serpent-God's Curved Sword, Greathorn Hammer and an active Rykard's Great Rune. Blasphemous Blade's Taker's Flames healing on a hit is another separate effect.
- Tanith gives it after the third main contract, Juno Hoslow. His armor and whip are the invasion rewards; the talisman comes from reporting the contract or collecting its later table reward.
- If the Red Letter assignment is available, you can still finish Juno after Rykard. When Tanith is absent, the talisman appears on the drawing-room letter table. This does not mean earlier uncollected letters or every other manor assignment remain available.
- Completing the manor business before Rykard still preserves the most options. In particular, finish Rya's conversations and any desired tonic dialogue before the later contract and boss steps close them.
