Effects
Reduces incoming damage by 10% at Heavy Load and 20% when Overloaded. Against other players, the reductions are 7.5% and 15%.
It gives no protection at Light or Medium Load. The condition uses your load category rather than an absolute equipment-weight number.
Increasing maximum equipment load can lower you into Medium Load and remove the bonus. More Endurance or an Arsenal talisman can therefore change whether this talisman activates.

In-game description

Great weight makes for great strength. The strength to protect others.
Where to find
Isolated valley reached by the Scadu Altus waygate
Ancient Ruins of Rauh
Starting Site of Grace: Highroad Cross
Before you go
- From Highroad Cross beyond Castle Ensis, look west for the raised stone waygate across the shallow water. Descend by the nearby low ledges and skirt the water rather than jumping from the highest cliff.
- Avoid the spectral Troll Knight on the approach and climb the hill to the waygate. Spend one Imbued Sword Key at its imp statue. An ordinary Stonesword Key cannot unlock this seal.
- Use the gate to reach the isolated grassy valley in Ancient Ruins of Rauh. Head northeast toward the shallow pool and the Divine Bird Warrior ahead.
- Pass or defeat the warrior, then continue between the two waterfalls to the large statue. Collect Verdigris Discus at its base. The warrior's dropped Somber Smithing Stone is a different reward.
- Use fast travel to leave once you are clear of enemies. This isolated valley does not provide a normal walking route into the rest of the upper ruins.
Notes
- Reduces incoming damage by 10% at Heavy Load and 20% when Overloaded. Against other players, the reductions are 7.5% and 15%.
- It gives no protection at Light or Medium Load. The condition uses your load category rather than an absolute equipment-weight number.
- Increasing maximum equipment load can lower you into Medium Load and remove the bonus. More Endurance or an Arsenal talisman can therefore change whether this talisman activates.
- Its own 4.5 weight counts toward your load. Check the complete equipped setup rather than deciding from your armor weight alone.
- Heavy Load restricts your dodge, and being Overloaded restricts movement further. The extra damage reduction does not give those movements back or make blocking cost no stamina.
- The pickup is in the isolated Rauh valley reached by the Imbued Sword Key waygate west of Highroad Cross. It is not reached by following the main upper-ruins route.
- Heavy Load begins at 70% of your maximum equipment load, and Overloaded begins at 100%. The benefit follows those movement categories, so changing your maximum load can change the effect even when the equipped items stay the same.
- It combines multiplicatively with other damage reduction. Two separate 20% reductions leave 64% of the original damage, which is 36% less damage rather than 40%.
- The protection covers Physical and elemental damage. It does not add resistance to Poison, Scarlet Rot or Blood Loss buildup, and it does not increase a shield's Guard Boost.
