In-game description
Incantation taught by Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman.
Fills the body with bestial vigor, restoring HP over a period of time.
Having gained intelligence, the beasts must have felt how their wildness slipped away as civilization took hold.
Where to find
Bestial Sanctum
Greyoll's Dragonbarrow
Starting Site of Grace: Bestial Sanctum
Before you go
- Give Gurranq 3 Deathroot in total.
- You need three Deathroot handovers in total. The two early Tibia Mariners and Deathtouched Catacombs provide one checked route to that total; other Deathroots can be substituted if you already have them.
- From Stormhill Shack, follow the road northeast past Warmaster's Shack and continue east across Saintsbridge.
- Stay on the road to Summonwater Village Outskirts, then enter the flooded ruins northeast of the grace.
- Fight the Tibia Mariner in the shallow water. Follow the boat when it teleports and keep attacking the boatman rather than trying to clear every skeleton.
- Defeat it to receive the ashes and a Deathroot. The sealed cellar containing the Green Turtle Talisman is separate and does not need to be opened.
- From Saintsbridge in northern Limgrave, follow the road west uphill. Before the roadside camp, take the slope on your right to the higher cliffside ledge.
- Look for the double doors with a seated spirit beside them. Open the doors, go inside Deathtouched Catacombs and activate the grace.
- Descend toward the sealed boss door, then take the stairs to the left into the skeleton rooms. Hit fallen skeletons again while they begin glowing to stop them reassembling.
- Continue through the wider main rooms into the lower chamber with skeleton archers. Follow the passage to the statue and lever at the western end.
- Pull the lever to open the sealed entrance boss door. Retrace the main route up the stairs to that door rather than staying in the small side passages.
- Enter the boss room and defeat the Black Knife Assassin, who starts this encounter with some health already missing.
- Open the chest at the back of the boss room for Deathroot. The boss awards Assassin's Crimson Dagger separately; the chest must still be opened.
- For the third option, reach eastern Liurnia's raised road and activate Liurnia Highway North grace. Follow its eastern road toward the pond south of Carian Study Hall, staying above the main academy lake.
- Find the Tibia Mariner steering its boat in the pond. Attack it while watching for summoned skeletons and its large water attacks.
- Follow it when it teleports to another part of the pond. You need to defeat the boatman, not clear every skeleton it summons.
- The victory awards the Skeletal Bandit Ashes and a Deathroot. This is the Liurnia Mariner, not the one at Summonwater Village.
- Go to the Third Church of Marika in eastern Limgrave. Find the waygate in the bushes behind the church, use it to reach Bestial Sanctum, then enter the large doors and activate the grace inside.
- Speak to Gurranq at the far end and hand over the three Deathroots. The first gives Clawmark Seal and Beast Eye, the second gives Bestial Sling, and the third gives Bestial Vitality. Check your received rewards and finish his dialogue after the offerings.
- You do not need to give him the fourth Deathroot for this spell. If you continue and he later becomes hostile, damage him only until he yields, then stop attacking and return after resting. Killing him ends the remaining offering rewards.
Notes
- Requires 12 Faith, one memory slot and a sacred seal, and costs 18 FP. Restores 5 HP per second for 120 seconds to you alone.
- A full duration can recover about 600 HP if that much health is missing over time. It is useful between fights, but the slow ticks are not an emergency heal.
- The amount is fixed. More Faith and seal upgrades do not improve it, and the bestial damage bonuses from Clawmark Seal and Cinquedea do not increase the healing.
- Bestial Vitality, Blessing's Boon and Blessing of the Erdtree replace one another. Passive regeneration from Blessed Dew Talisman or Icon Shield can work alongside it.
- Old Lord's Talisman extends the duration to 156 seconds while keeping the same healing rate.
- It does not heal allies, damage Revenants or remove status ailments. Those are separate benefits of other healing or cleansing incantations.
- Gurranq gives it after your third Deathroot handover. His later hostile episode after the fourth handover is not required to obtain this spell, and killing him ends the remaining reward chain.
